EDD online system down, need to reopen claim pending appeal with no court date. No benefits for over a year. Help!

Ugh, I feel your pain. The system is so broken rn. Have you tried calling the EDD directly? Sometimes you can get lucky if you call right when they open.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblymember or state senator? They can sometimes help push things along with EDD.

Here's what I'd recommend based on my experience: 1. Keep trying to call EDD early in the morning 2. Reach out to your local representatives 3. Document everything - dates you called, who you spoke to, etc. 4. Check if you qualify for any hardship programs while waiting 5. Consider legal aid if it's been an excessive wait Hang in there, OP. I heard theres a new bill being proposed to overhaul the entire unemployment system. Might be worth looking into and contacting your reps about supporting it.
