EDD unemployment claim stuck in pending processing - how to get help?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my unemployment claim. It's been stuck in pending processing status for a while now and I'm not sure what to do. I need to find out what information they still need to complete my claim and move it forward. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get through to someone who can actually help?

Here's what you need to do to get your claim moving: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. Sometimes they need additional info but don't tell you directly. 2. If there's nothing there, you need to speak with a tier 2 specialist. They're the only ones who can actually fix issues with your claim. 3. Call the 5616 number, not the 2511. The 2511 agents can't do much to help. 4. Be persistent. It might take 50+ calls to get through, but don't give up. 5. Once you get someone on the line, ask specifically what's holding up your claim. Get names and ID numbers of who you talk to. 6. If they can't help, ask to be transferred to a tier 2 specialist or have one call you back. 7. Document everything. Dates, times, who you spoke to, what they said. 8. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite claims. Good luck! The system is a mess, but don't give up. You'll get your money eventually.

idk if this helps but I had a similar issue. turns out they needed proof of identity. I uploaded my drivers license and social security card to the portal and it fixed the problem in like 2 days

•Really? I'll check if that's the issue. Thanks for the tip!

Claimyr is a useful tool if you're really struggling to get through to EDD. While it does cost $20, many find it to be a great time-saver, bypassing hours of hold time to get through to an agent directly. However, it's important to weigh the cost if you're on a tight budget. In addition to services like Claimyr, you might want to explore contacting your local representatives for support, especially if EDD difficulties persist. They can sometimes expedite claims and offer guidance. Also keep an eye on official announcements from EDD in case of new procedures or updates regarding claims. Most crucially, ensure your personal data is secure when using third-party services or uploading documents online. Stay persistent and good luck!

Has anyone else noticed that the EDD website is always "down for maintenance" at the most inconvenient times? It's like they're trying to make this as difficult as possible 🙄

•Omg yes! It's always down when I finally have time to deal with this stuff. So annoying!

•Plot twist: the website is never actually under maintenance. They just don't want to deal with us 🤔

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•It's a shame we have to resort to third-party services to navigate a broken system. But sometimes, it’s what we gotta do.

Have you tried calling the EDD hotline? Sometimes you can get lucky and reach someone who knows what they're doing.

•Yeah, I've been trying to call but it's always busy or I get disconnected. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. Sometimes you can get through that way.

Has anyone tried going to an EDD office in person? I heard some people have had luck that way.

•I tried that last week. Waited in line for 3 hours only to be told they can't help with claims in person anymore. Total waste of time.

Hey OP, what exactly does your claim status say? Sometimes the wording can give clues about what's holding things up.

•It just says "pending processing" with no other details. Super helpful, right? 🙃
