EDD payment delayed 6 weeks, no updates. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. It's been a while since my last payment and I'm not sure what's going on. Has anyone else experienced delays recently? Any advice on how to check the status or get in touch with someone who can help?

•6 weeks?! That's crazy long. Have you checked your online account for any updates or messages?

•Yeah, I've been checking everyday but there's nothing new. Just says 'pending' 🤷♂️

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Got through in about 2 hours when I'd been trying for weeks on my own.

•$20 tho? 🤔 Kinda messed up we gotta pay to get help we're entitled to...

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money and I was wasting so much time trying to get through on my own.

Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things along with EDD.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire unemployment system. It's a joke that people have to wait this long for their benefits. 🤬

•Preach! 🙌 The whole thing is so outdated. They're probably still using computers from the 90s lol

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for months: 1. Keep calling, even if it seems hopeless. Try different times of day. 2. Check your online account daily for updates or new messages. 3. Make sure all your certifications are up to date. 4. If you get through, ask for a tier 2 specialist if the first person can't help. 5. Document everything - dates you called, who you spoke to, what they said. 6. Consider reaching out to your local assembly member or state senator for help. 7. If you're really desperate, that claimyr service someone mentioned might be worth a shot. Hang in there, OP. The system sucks but don't give up!

idk if this helps but I was in the same boat last month. Turns out there was an identity verification issue I didn't know about. Might be worth checking if that's holding things up for you too.
