NYDOL: Can't claim benefits until I call, but can't get through. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble claiming my benefits. The message I got said I can't claim until I call them, but I've been trying to get through for days. Anyone else dealing with this? Any tips on how to actually reach a human being at the unemployment office?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last month. It's like they purposely make it impossible to get through! 🤬 Have you tried calling right when they open? That worked for me after like a week of trying.

•I second this! Early morning is def the way to go. Set ur alarm for like 5 minutes before they open and start dialing

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Thats kinda steep for something that should be free...

•I get the skepticism, but after spending hours trying to get through, it was worth it for me. Saved me a ton of time and stress.

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things through or at least get you in touch with the right person.

The whole system is a joke. They tell us to call, but then make it impossible to get through. Its like they dont want us to get our benefits 🙄

•Preach! 🙌 I swear they do it on purpose to discourage people from claiming

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call exactly at opening time 2. If you get a busy signal, hang up and immediately redial 3. Keep doing this for at least 30 minutes 4. If you get through to the automated system, DO NOT press any buttons. Wait for it to transfer you to an agent. 5. Be prepared to wait on hold for a long time It took me about 3 days of trying this method before I finally got through. Good luck!

•Wow, thanks for the detailed guide! I'll definitely try this out. Did you have to do anything special once you got through to the agent?

•Nah, once I got an agent it was pretty straightforward. Just had my claim number and personal info ready. They fixed the issue in like 10 minutes.
