If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just wanted to update you - I remember now that I actually got a letter in the mail about my claim approval BEFORE it showed as approved online. So you might want to check your physical mail too. The SDI Online system sometimes lags behind the actual processing.

Oh! I hadn't thought of that. I'll definitely check my mail more carefully. Thanks for the tip!

UPDATE: My claim was just approved this morning! It took exactly 16 days. I checked the EDD website and it now shows my claim as approved with a benefit amount. I should get my first payment in 2-3 business days according to the message. Thank you all so much for your help and reassurance. The stress relief is huge!

Quick clarification on something important: Your father may qualify for Disability Insurance Benefits instead of returning to his UI claim. If his stroke occurred before he could return to work, his disability claim could potentially be backdated to when his medical condition began (the date of his stroke).\n\nHowever, be aware that there's a maximum filing timeframe - claims filed more than 49 days after the disability began may be disqualified unless there's a good reason for the delay. In your father's case, if you file within 49 days of his stroke, you should be fine.\n\nAlso, once the SDI claim is approved, he would receive approximately 60-70% of his regular wages (based on a calculation of his highest quarter earnings in the base period), up to the maximum weekly benefit amount, which is $1,620 in 2025.

Thank you for this additional information. So if I understand correctly, we should focus on the SDI claim first since it can be backdated to when he had the stroke, and then separately try to resolve the UI claim for the February-to-stroke period? The SDI benefit amount sounds much better than what he would get from UI anyway.

My cousin works at EDD and told me that if you get final paychecks AFTER your disability started, they will adjust your benefit start date. So you'll probably start getting SDI payments after May 15th (that's May 8th + the 7 day waiting period). Hope that helps!

That's not entirely accurate. The 7-day waiting period starts from the disability date (April 21), not from the last paycheck date. However, you're right that EDD won't pay benefits for any period covered by regular wages. The system calculates this automatically once all wage information is reported correctly on the claim form.

Update: I filed my claim yesterday with April 21 as my disability start date and made sure to include information about my May 8th paycheck. The EDD representative I finally reached confirmed that was the correct approach. Now I'm just waiting for my doctor to submit the medical certification. Thanks everyone for your help!

One more thing I wanted to add - make sure your doctor specified the correct extended date on their form. I've seen cases where doctors accidentally put the wrong end date, and then patients had to go through the whole extension process again. When you call EDD to confirm they received your extension, also ask them what the new end date is showing in their system.

That's a great point! My doctor did tell me the new end date (June 5th, 2025), so I'll make sure that matches what EDD has on file when I call them. Thank you!

Also, just to clarify since I see some confusion in the thread - your pregnancy disability can transition to Paid Family Leave (PFL) after you recover from childbirth. That's a separate benefit that gives you time to bond with your baby. You'll need to file a new claim for that when your disability ends. The standard is up to 8 weeks of pregnancy disability after delivery for vaginal births (longer for C-sections), then up to 8 weeks of PFL for bonding. Just something to keep in mind for future planning!

Thank you for mentioning this! I've already delivered (had my baby 6 weeks ago), and the extension is because I'm still having blood pressure issues postpartum. I was planning to apply for PFL once my disability ends, so this is a good reminder that I'll need to file a separate claim for that.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call early in the morning, like right when they open. 2. If you get the 'too many callers' message, hang up and immediately redial. 3. Once you're in the queue, DO NOT HANG UP no matter how long it takes. 4. Have all your info ready - claim number, last employer details, etc. 5. Be polite but firm with the rep you get. It took me about 2 hours of redialing, but I finally got through and got my issue resolved. Good luck!
