TWC Late Unemployment Filing: Tips to Reach a Real Person?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I need to file for unemployment benefits but I'm late on it. I've been trying to reach the unemployment office for days now, but no luck. Anyone else dealing with this? Any tips on how to get through to a real person? I'm starting to feel pretty desperate here.

Hey, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20? That's kinda steep. Is it really worth it?

•I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. It actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

Late filing might affect your benefits, just fyi. You might not get paid for the weeks you didn't claim. But don't give up! Keep trying to reach them and explain your situation.

Have you tried the online portal? Sometimes you can file late claims there without having to talk to anyone. Worth a shot before you spend hours on hold.

If you're tech-savvy, you can also try using an auto-dialer app. It can help speed up the redial process until you get through.

•That's a neat trick. Do you have any specific app recommendations?

•Yeah, there are a few out there. "Auto Call Scheduler" and "Auto Redial" are pretty popular.

I feel your pain, OP. I was in the same situation last year. It took me weeks to finally get through. Don't give up hope. Keep calling, and try different times of day. Eventually, you'll get lucky.

Claimyr seems like it could be a lifesaver, but I wonder how secure it is to use a third-party service. Anyone know if they've had any issues with privacy or data protection?

•Good point! Always be cautious. It might be worth reaching out to Claimyr directly to ask about their data security measures.

Ugh, the unemployment system is such a joke. They make it so hard on purpose, I swear. It's like they don't want us to get the benefits we're entitled to. 😤

•Preach! 🙌 The whole system needs an overhaul. It's not like we're asking for handouts, we paid into this!

Pro tip: if you have access to multiple phones, call from all of them at once. Increases your chances of getting through. It's like playing unemployment roulette lol

Listen up, folks. I've been dealing with the unemployment office for years (not proud of it, but it is what it is). Here's the definitive guide to getting through: 1. Call early, but not too early. Around 10:30 AM is the sweet spot. 2. If you get a busy signal, hang up and redial immediately. Don't wait. 3. Once you're in the queue, DO NOT HANG UP. I don't care if you have to pee, if your house is on fire, whatever. Stay. On. The. Line. 4. Have all your info ready. They might ask for weird stuff like the name of your third-grade teacher (jk, but be prepared). 5. Be nice to the rep when you finally get one. They deal with angry people all day. 6. If all else fails, try that Claimyr thing someone mentioned earlier. I haven't used it, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor. 💯

•Solid tips! I can vouch for not hanging up once you're in the queue. I've hung up out of frustration before and had to start all over again.

This is why we need UBI. The current system is broken af. 🤡

•Yeah, cuz more government handouts is totally the answer 🙄 How about we focus on creating jobs instead?

Here's what worked for me: I emailed my state representative. They have staff dedicated to helping constituents with unemployment issues. Got a call back within 2 days.

•Wow, I never thought of that. Do you just find their email on the government website?

•Yep! Just google "[your state] state representative" and you should find a way to contact them.

Welcome to the club, buddy. We're all in the same boat here. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach anyone. 🤔

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through. Also, keep hitting 0 or # repeatedly - sometimes that'll bump you to a real person.

•Tried that. Doesn't work anymore. They've caught on to our tricks lol

•I've had better luck calling later in the day actually. Less people trying to get through then.

I totally get your frustration! I went through the same thing a few months back. What finally worked for me was calling around 2 PM on Wednesdays - seems like a weird time but I think it's when they have more staff available after lunch breaks. Also, make sure you have your Social Security number, last employer info, and exact dates of employment ready before you call. The reps move fast once you get through and they'll hang up if you take too long to find your paperwork. Don't lose hope - it took me 3 weeks but I eventually got everything sorted out!
