Unemployment payments suddenly stopped - no response from EDD. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. My unemployment payments have suddenly stopped coming through. It's been a few weeks now and I'm starting to get really worried. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what could be causing the delay or what I should do next? I've tried calling the unemployment office but can't seem to get through to a real person. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I went through something similar last month. Have you checked your online account to see if there's any messages or updates? Sometimes they need additional info and won't tell you directly.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I did check my account but there's nothing new there. It's so frustrating 😤

•This happened to me too! Turns out they needed proof of job search activities. Double check that section of ur account

The unemployment system is such a joke rn. I've been waiting 6 weeks for my first payment. Feels like were all just screaming into the void 🤡

Hey there, I've been through this rodeo before and here's what I've learned: 1. Keep calling. I know it sucks, but persistence pays off. 2. Check your online account daily for updates or requests for information. 3. Make sure you're still certifying for benefits every week, even if you're not getting paid. 4. If you have a local unemployment office, try going in person if possible. 5. Reach out to your local state representative. They sometimes can help push things along. 6. Double-check that your bank info hasn't changed or expired. 7. Look into any recent changes in unemployment laws that might affect your eligibility. Hang in there, OP. The system is overwhelmed but keep at it!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Thats kinda steep for just a phone call...

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•How long did you have to wait once they connected you?

•Only about 5 minutes! Way better than the hours I spent trying to get through on my own

have u tried faxing them? I know it sounds old school but I got a response within 48 hours when I did that

•Faxing? What year is it? 😂 But hey, if it works, it works. I'll give it a shot!

This might sound crazy, but try tweeting at your state's unemployment office. I did that out of desperation and got a DM with a direct number to call. Worth a shot! 🤷♂️

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! My payments stopped about 2 weeks ago with zero explanation. The worst part is you can't even get a human on the phone to tell you what's wrong. I've been checking my account obsessively but there's literally nothing there - no messages, no requests for info, nothing. It's like they just decided to ghost me 😭 Really hoping someone here has found a solution because I'm running out of options (and money). Thanks for posting this - at least now I know I'm not the only one dealing with this nightmare!

•I'm so sorry you're going through this too! It's honestly reassuring to know I'm not alone, even though I wouldn't wish this stress on anyone. The ghosting thing is so real - like how are we supposed to fix whatever's wrong if they won't even tell us what it is?? Have you tried any of the suggestions people mentioned above? I'm definitely going to try the faxing thing and maybe even that calling service, as sketchy as it sounds. We shouldn't have to jump through all these hoops just to get answers! 😤
