EDD suddenly stopped my unemployment benefits without warning - need help ASAP!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. My unemployment benefits suddenly stopped without any warning or explanation. I've been relying on these funds and now I'm left hanging. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to get in touch with EDD and figure out what's going on? I tried calling but it's impossible to get through. I'm getting really worried and could use some help or guidance.

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is a total nightmare rn. I went through something similar last month. Here's what worked for me: 1. Log into your EDD account 2. Go to the 'Contact Us' section 3. Choose the option for payment issues 4. Write a detailed message explaining your situation Make sure to be polite but firm. Ask for specific info about why your payments stopped and what you need to do to get them started again. Good luck!

•Thanks for the advice! I'll give that a shot. Did they respond quickly when you did this?

•It took about a week for them to get back to me. Not super fast, but way better than trying to call endlessly. Just make sure to check your inbox regularly!

same boat here. its so frustrating! have you checked if theres any new certifications or forms you need to fill out? sometimes they sneek those in without telling you and then cut off your benefits if you miss them

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They often have direct lines to EDD and can help push your case through. It's worth a shot!

•I hadn't even thought of that! How do I find my assembly member?

•Just google '[your city] assembly member'. Their office should have a website with contact info. Good luck!

Hey OP, sorry you're dealing with this. I work for a non-profit that helps people navigate unemployment issues. Here's a detailed guide that might help: 1. Document everything: Keep a log of all your attempts to contact EDD, including dates and times. 2. Check your UI Online account: Look for any new messages or alerts that might explain the stoppage. 3. Verify your identity: Sometimes benefits stop due to identity verification issues. Make sure your ID.me account is up to date. 4. Appeal if necessary: If you find out your benefits were stopped due to a decision you disagree with, file an appeal immediately. 5. Seek help: Consider reaching out to legal aid organizations in your area. Many offer free assistance with EDD issues. 6. Stay persistent: Unfortunately, resolving these issues often takes time and repeated efforts. Don't give up! Hope this helps. Feel free to DM me if you need more specific advice.

Anyone else notice that these issues always seem to pop up right when rent is due? It's like they time it to cause maximum stress 😫

This is such a common issue unfortunately! I went through the exact same thing about 6 months ago. One thing that helped me was checking if there were any pending issues in my account that I missed - sometimes they flag something for review and don't send a clear notification. Also, try calling the disability line specifically if you were on disability benefits, not the regular unemployment line. The wait times are still brutal but sometimes a bit better. Document every attempt you make to contact them with dates/times - it helps if you need to escalate later. Wishing you luck getting this sorted out quickly! 🤞
