EDD payment delayed over a month - need advice on contacting them
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment payments. My last payment was over a month ago and I haven't received anything since. Has anyone else experienced delays like this? I'm getting worried and could use some advice on how to handle this situation. What should I say when I finally get through to someone at EDD?

Ugh, I feel ya. EDD is a nightmare rn. I was in the same boat last month. Try calling first thing in the morning, like right when they open. Sometimes you can get lucky and actually talk to a human 🙄

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦♂️

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to try anything. It's legit.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Is it safe to use?

•Sure! You just go to their website, choose the EDD line, pay, and they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings. It's pretty simple and felt safe to me.

Here's what worked for me: I sent a message through the EDD website and actually got a response in a few days. They fixed the issue and my payments started coming again. Might be worth a shot!

When you do get through, be sure to ask about any pending certifications or identity verification issues. Those are common reasons for payment delays. Good luck!

I've been dealing with this for THREE MONTHS now. It's absolutely ridiculous. I've tried everything - calling, emailing, even contacting my local representative. Nothing seems to work. I'm at my wits end here 😭

•Three months?! That's insane. Have you considered filing a complaint with the labor board?

•I hadn't thought of that. Might be worth a shot at this point. Thanks for the suggestion!

Pro tip: If you can't get through on the main line, try calling one of the other departments and ask to be transferred. Sometimes works like a charm 😉

•Ooh, sneaky. I like it. Which department do you usually try?

•I've had luck with the tax department. They're usually less busy.

Guys, I hate to be that person, but have you checked your spam folder? I found out my EDD emails were going there and I missed some important info. Just throwing it out there!

Here's a detailed breakdown of what you should do: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. 2. Make sure all your certifications are up to date. 3. Verify your identity if you haven't already (they're being extra strict about this lately). 4. Try contacting them through UI Online - sometimes they respond faster this way. 5. If calling, use this script: 'Hello, I noticed my last payment was over a month ago, and I haven't received any payments since. Could you please check if there are any issues or delays with my account? I've made sure all my certifications are up to date.' 6. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member or state senator. They can sometimes expedite EDD issues. Hope this helps! Hang in there, we're all in this together. 💪
