EDD missing 2 weeks of payments, no notice - what to do?
Hey everyone, I'm freaking out. I just checked my account and I'm missing 2 weeks of unemployment payments. I haven't received any notices or letters explaining why. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do when I finally get through to EDD? I'm worried sick about how I'm gonna pay my bills this month.

Ugh, that sucks. I've been there before. When you get through to EDD (which is a nightmare in itself), make sure you ask them to check your account for any flags or issues. Sometimes they put a hold on payments without telling you why. 🙄

•This. Always ask them to check for flags. I had a similar issue and turns out there was a random identity verification flag on my account that no one told me about 🤦♂️

•fr tho, the lack of communication is ridiculous. like, how hard is it to send an email or something? 🤔

•Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely ask about flags when I get through. Fingers crossed it's just a simple mix-up 🤞

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😡

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho

•Can you give more details about how it works? Do they just keep calling until they get through?

•Yeah, basically. They have some kind of automated system that navigates the phone tree and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone. Pretty clever tbh

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down the dates of your missing payments. 2. Check your UI Online account for any messages or notices you might have missed. 3. When you call, be polite but firm. Explain that you're missing 2 weeks of payments and haven't received any explanation. 4. Ask them to check for any flags or holds on your account. 5. If they can't resolve it immediately, ask for a callback from a tier 2 specialist. 6. Get the name and ID number of everyone you talk to. 7. If they can't help, ask about filing an appeal. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! Good luck! 💪

•This is solid advice. I'd add: if you still can't get it resolved, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes work miracles with EDD.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, make sure your address is up to date in the system. I missed a important letter once cuz I forgot to update my address after moving.

•Good point! Just checked and nothing in spam. My address is current too. Guess I'll have to brave the phone lines 😩

I'm in the same boat, been waiting on 3 weeks of payments. This whole system is a joke. We need to organize and demand better treatment!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I usually have better luck getting through early in the morning. Also, Wednesdays seem to be less busy for some reason.

•This. Also, try calling from a different phone number if you can. Sometimes they block numbers that call too often.
