EDD SDI payment 2 weeks late, not showing up in account. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm freaking out a little bit here. I usually get my disability payment every two weeks, but this time it's late. My last payment came through on the 10th, and I was supposed to get another one yesterday. But when I checked my account, there's no sign of any payment being processed. I logged into my EDD SDI account and there's nothing showing up there either. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do?

Ugh, that sucks. I've been there before and it's so stressful. Have you tried calling the EDD? Sometimes they have delays or glitches in their system.

•Classic EDD... their phone lines are always jammed. Keep trying tho, eventually you'll get through!

•Pro tip: try calling right when they open. Sometimes you can snag a spot in the queue before it fills up.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It saved me hours of frustration.

•$20 seems steep just to make a phone call... 🤔

•I get that, but think about how much time you waste trying to get through. For me, it was worth every penny.

This happened to me last month. Turns out there was a system update that caused a delay in processing payments. It took about 3 days to sort out, but I eventually got my money. Hang in there!

OK, let me break this down for you. There are a few things that could be happening here: 1. System Delay: As someone mentioned, EDD sometimes has system updates or glitches that can delay payments. These usually resolve within a few days. 2. Certification Issue: Did you certify for benefits on time? If you missed your certification, that could delay your payment. 3. Change in Eligibility: Sometimes EDD needs to re-verify your eligibility, which can pause payments. 4. Bank Processing: Occasionally, it's not EDD but your bank that's slow in processing the deposit. 5. Holiday Interference: If there was a holiday recently, that might have affected processing times. Here's what you should do: - Keep trying to contact EDD. Use the online portal if possible, as it's often faster than phone. - Check your mail and email for any notices from EDD. - If you can't get through by phone, consider using a service like Claimyr as a last resort. - If it goes on for more than a week, contact your local assemblymember's office. They can often help push things through. Hang in there! It's frustrating, but it'll get sorted out. 💪

Not to be that guy, but have you considered looking for work? I know disability is tough, but maybe there's something you could do part-time?

This is why we need to overhaul the entire system. It's ridiculous that people have to stress about whether they'll get the money they need to survive. Vote for change!

Hey Sofia! I went through the exact same thing about 6 months ago - payment was 4 days late and I was panicking. Turns out EDD was doing some backend maintenance that wasn't announced anywhere. The payment showed up eventually, but the stress was real! One thing that helped me was logging into the EDD portal and checking if there were any pending issues or flags on my account. Sometimes they'll put a hold if they need additional documentation or if there's a discrepancy they're reviewing. Also, if you have direct deposit, double-check that your banking info is still correct in your profile. I know someone whose payment got delayed because their bank changed routing numbers and they didn't update it. Sending you good vibes that it gets sorted out soon! The waiting is the worst part. 💙

•Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It's really reassuring to hear from someone who went through the same thing. I just checked my EDD portal again and didn't see any flags or pending issues, which is good I guess? My banking info looks correct too. The backend maintenance thing makes sense - typical that they wouldn't announce it! 🤦♀️ Really hoping it shows up in the next day or two. The stress is eating me alive!
