EDD SDI payment shows paid online but nothing on BoA card after 4 days - what's going on?

Hey all, I'm getting really worried about my disability payment. The EDD SDI website is showing that my payment was issued on 11/23, but it's still not showing up on my Bank of America EDD debit card 4 days later! I've never had this kind of delay before - usually it shows up within 1-2 days max. I tried calling EDD but of course can't get through to anyone (shocking, right?). I also called Bank of America EDD card services and waited on hold for 45 minutes only to be told they don't see any pending deposits. Has anyone else experienced this lately? Is there something going on with the system? I really need this money for rent that's due next week!

Thanks, I'll try calling at 7:58am tomorrow. Did you end up getting your payment or did you have to do something special to fix it?

This is actually becoming more common with the EDD SDI system lately. There are several possible reasons for the delay:\n\n1. System processing delays - sometimes there's a lag between when the system marks a payment as \

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Tomorrow will be the 5th business day since it supposedly was paid (not counting Thanksgiving holiday). I'm getting really anxious about this.

If you need to actually speak with an EDD representative (which you probably do), I'd suggest using Claimyr. It's a service that helps you get through to an actual person at EDD without the endless busy signals and disconnections. I was skeptical at first, but it saved me hours of frustration when I had a similar payment issue. Check out their demo video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ?si=1hcSq3KFtCr4oAmd or go to claimyr.com. They basically call EDD for you and then connect you when they get through to an agent. My payment issue got resolved the same day I finally spoke with someone.

Yes, it worked for me. The rep I got connected to was able to see exactly what was happening with my payment and resolved it right away. Saved me days of stress and repeated calling.

Sometimes the system shows payments as issued when they're actually still in processing! Same thing happened to me and I PANICKED because I had rent due. Make sure you're also checking under

THE EDD SYSTEM IS COMPLETELY BROKEN!!! I've been on disability since August and EVERY SINGLE PAYMENT has had some kind of problem. Late payments, missing payments, wrong amounts. And just TRY to get anyone on the phone to help - IMPOSSIBLE!!! This is OUR MONEY that we need for SURVIVAL and they treat us like we're asking for handouts. It's disgusting how they run this system. I've documented every issue I've had and I'm considering filing a formal complaint because this is affecting people's ability to pay for BASIC NECESSITIES!!

Completely agree the system is broken but filing complaints doesn't do anything. I filed one in September and got a generic response 6 weeks later that basically said \

Quick update on this issue - there was actually a known technical problem with EDD payment processing that started around November 22nd. It affected disability payments that were approved during that week. EDD is aware of it and working to fix the batch processing error. Most of the delayed payments should be posted by tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. If you don't see your payment by Thursday, definitely contact EDD directly.

Thank you so much for this update! That makes me feel a bit better knowing it's a known issue. I'll wait until Thursday and then try to contact them if it's still not there. Really appreciate this info!

The original post is specifically about State Disability Insurance (SDI), not Paid Family Leave (PFL). While they're both administered by EDD, they're different programs and can have different payment processing systems. That's why you might not be experiencing the same issues with your PFL payments.

UPDATE: My payment finally posted to my BoA card this morning! That's a full 6 days after the EDD website said it was paid. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions. For anyone else experiencing this issue, it seems like there's some kind of system delay happening right now, so don't panic if your payment is taking longer than usual to show up.

Great news! Glad it worked out. EDD is always a mess around holidays.
