EDD disability payment missing from Monday - not showing online or on BofA card?

Has anyone else noticed their EDD SDI payment that was supposed to come through yesterday (Monday) is totally missing? I've been receiving biweekly payments since my claim started in February, and they've always been super reliable. I checked my EDD account online and there's no payment processing or history showing for yesterday at all. My Bank of America EDD card also doesn't show any pending deposits. I'm starting to get a bit concerned since my rent is due on Friday and I was counting on this payment. Is anyone else experiencing this delay? Is there some kind of EDD holiday or system issue happening?

Add me to the club! This is the 3rd time this has happened to me in 5 months. Last time it took them 4 days to fix it. So stressful when you need the money for bills!

There's a known system delay happening right now with EDD SDI payment processing. They're doing some kind of backend system maintenance that was announced in an email about two weeks ago (though it was buried in the middle of a general update). The payments should post by Wednesday according to the notice. If you don't see it by then, you'll need to contact EDD directly to check your claim status.

Thanks for this info! I must have missed that email completely. Good to know it's a system issue and not just my claim. I'll wait until Wednesday before panicking then.

OMG I'm literally going through the EXACT same thing! I've been on disability since January (car accident) and my payments always hit on Monday like clockwork. When nothing showed up yesterday I started calling EDD but of course couldn't get through AT ALL. I tried probably 20+ times and either got busy signals or it would hang up after the automated message. This is SO frustrating when you're depending on that money for basic necessities!!

I gave up trying to call EDD directly after spending literally 3 days trying to get through about my missing payment last month. I ended up using this service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual EDD rep in about 20 minutes. It was honestly worth it just to stop the anxiety of not knowing what was happening with my money. They have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ?si=1hcSq3KFtCr4oAmd and the website is claimyr.com. Not sure if this helps anyone else but I was desperate and it worked for me.

I work with disability claims professionally, and I can confirm there's a scheduled maintenance period affecting payment processing that started Sunday night. The system update is affecting claim processing and payment disbursements for SDI, PFL, and some UI claims. According to the official notification, all delayed payments should post by Wednesday afternoon, but some may come through as early as tonight. If your payment doesn't appear by Thursday morning, here are the steps you should take: 1. Check your payment history in your SDI Online account 2. Verify your claim certification was processed correctly 3. Confirm your Bank of America EDD card is active and not expired 4. Call the EDD SDI customer service line at 1-800-480-3287 Note that this maintenance shouldn't affect your regular payment schedule going forward. If you have automatic bill payments set up, you might want to contact those providers to explain the potential 1-2 day delay.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! Do you know if this delay will affect the next payment cycle as well? My next certification is due on the 4th and I'm worried this might throw off the whole schedule.

Not getting my payment either, but when I finally got through to someone at EDD this morning, they told me it wasn't system maintenance - they said there was a "payment processing verification step" that's now required for some claims. The rep wouldn't tell me why MY claim specifically was flagged for this extra verification. Has anyone else been told this? Now I'm worried there's something wrong with my claim that they're not telling me...

The payment verification process you're describing is actually part of the system update. The EDD has implemented new fraud prevention measures within this maintenance window that require additional verification for some claims. This isn't necessarily an indication there's anything wrong with your specific claim - it's happening to many people. The additional verification is largely automated and shouldn't cause more than a 48-hour delay for most claimants. If you're concerned about your specific situation, you can request a claim status review when you speak with a representative.

Just checked and nothing yet for me. But that's encouraging! Maybe they're processing them in batches. I'll keep checking throughout the day. Thanks for the update!

For those still waiting, remember that Bank of America and EDD operate on different systems. Sometimes the payment will show as processed in your EDD account several hours before it appears on your BofA card. I recommend checking both systems separately. Also, if you've recently changed any information on your claim (address, doctor, work status), this can trigger additional review that might delay your payment beyond the current system maintenance issue. If that's the case, you might need to call in directly to resolve it.

You're RIGHT! I just checked my EDD account again and it shows the payment was processed today at 9:43am but it's still not showing on my BofA card. At least now I know it's definitely coming. Thank you for this tip!!!

UPDATE: My payment just posted to my BofA card! Looks like they're definitely processing them now. For anyone still waiting, hang in there - seems like they're coming through!

Nice! Still waiting on mine but good to know they're moving through the backlog. This whole system is so stressful when you're depending on the money.
