ESD payment shows 'paid' but no direct deposit today - anyone else missing their Monday payment?
Has anyone else not received their unemployment payment today? My ESD account clearly shows 'paid' status for this week's claim, but there's nothing in my bank account yet. It's always been super reliable hitting my account Monday morning by 9am without fail for the past 2 months. I checked my payment details and everything looks correct - same bank account info that's always worked before. Starting to worry since I've got rent coming up this Friday and really need this money. Is the system experiencing delays? Anyone else in the same boat?

Exact same problem here! Mine shows 'paid' since Sunday night but no money in my account yet. I called my bank and they don't see any pending deposits either. This has never happened before in the 3 months I've been on unemployment. Makes me nervous because I've got bills auto-paying tomorrow!

•That's a relief it's not just me! Have you tried contacting ESD? I tried calling but of course can't get through...

THEY DO THIS ALL THE TIME!! The system says "paid" but the money doesn't actually get processed for DAYS sometimes!!! I've had it take up to 3 extra days before even though my account says PAID!!! ESD doesn't care that people have bills and need their money ON TIME. The worst part is YOU CAN'T EVER GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE to explain what's happening!!! I've been dealing with this garbage for 5 months now and it's ALWAYS something!!

•Ugh, that's so frustrating. Has it ever gone longer than 3 days for you? I'm really counting on this money.

It's Presidents' Day today, which is a federal banking holiday. Even though ESD has processed your payment (showing as 'paid' in the system), banks aren't processing ACH transfers today. Your payment should appear in your account tomorrow morning. This happens every federal holiday - the ESD system processes claims on schedule, but the actual money transfer gets delayed by one business day because banks are closed.

•Thank you! That makes perfect sense - I totally forgot about Presidents' Day! Such a relief.

•Then ESD should make this CLEAR on their website!!! Why does it say PAID if it's not actually PAID YET???

For anyone still having trouble reaching ESD about this or other payment issues, I had great results with Claimyr last month when my payment was stuck pending for weeks. It got me through to an actual ESD agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending days trying to call. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 In this case though, it's definitely just the Presidents' Day holiday causing the delay. Your money should show up tomorrow!

•Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind if I have any serious issues in the future. Glad to know there's a way to actually reach someone if needed.

I had the same thing happen last month but it wasn't even a holiday. Sometimes the banks just take longer to process. Mine showed paid on Monday but didn't hit my account until Wednesday that week. ESD has already done their part once it says paid, it's just waiting for the bank transfer system to do its thing.

•That's good to know. I always thought it was instant once ESD marked it paid. I guess the banking system has its own timeline.

UPDATE: My payment just hit my account this morning! So it was definitely the Presidents' Day holiday causing the delay. Thanks everyone for the help - I feel silly for panicking now, but it's such a relief to see the money in my account.

•Glad to hear it! For future reference, here's a list of all federal holidays for 2025 when banking processes will be delayed: New Year's Day (Jan 1), MLK Day (Jan 20), Presidents' Day (Feb 17), Memorial Day (May 26), Juneteenth (June 19), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (Sept 1), Columbus Day (Oct 13), Veterans Day (Nov 11), Thanksgiving (Nov 27), Christmas (Dec 25). Always good to mark these if you're depending on unemployment payments.
