ESD weekly payment suddenly missing - direct deposit not showing up this week

I'm seriously freaking out right now! My unemployment payment hasn't hit my account and it's already Thursday. Every single week for the past 3 months, my direct deposit has shown up by Tuesday morning like clockwork. I filed my weekly claim on Sunday night just like always, got the confirmation number, and my eServices account shows 'paid' status for this week with the correct amount. But NOTHING is in my bank account! I've double-checked my direct deposit info in the system and it's definitely correct. Has this happened to anyone else recently? Is ESD having some kind of payment delay this week? I've got rent due Monday and I'm seriously starting to panic.

chill out most likely its just a bank processing delay. sometimes takes an extra day or two especially if theres a holiday or something

There wasn't any holiday this week though... and it's never been late before, not even by a few hours. That's why I'm worried something's wrong with my claim.

This actually happened to me twice in the last year. If your claim shows 'paid' status in eServices, that means ESD has processed it on their end, but there could be a delay with either their payment processor or your bank. A few things to check: 1. Verify the payment issued date in your payment history section 2. Check if your bank shows any pending deposits 3. Make sure there weren't any recent changes to your claim that might trigger a review In my experience, if eServices shows 'paid,' the money will eventually arrive. One time it took 3 extra days, another time just 1 day late. If it doesn't show up by Friday, then I'd recommend contacting ESD directly.

Thanks for this detailed response. The payment issued date shows Tuesday (which is normal), but there's nothing pending in my account. I haven't made any changes to my claim at all. The weird thing is the status says 'paid' but under the payment details it says 'processing' which I've never noticed before.

OMG the exact same thing happened to me this week too!!! My payment always comes on Tuesdays but nothing showed up. Called my bank and they don't see anything pending either. Something must be going on with ESD's system. Has anyone been able to actually talk to someone at ESD about this??

Really?? That makes me feel a bit better that I'm not the only one. Have you tried calling ESD yet? I tried this morning but gave up after being on hold for 45 minutes.

I tried calling twice and got disconnected both times after waiting forever! So frustrating when you need to actually talk to someone!!!

There's actually a system-wide payment processing delay this week. I just got off the phone with an ESD representative who confirmed they're experiencing delays with the batch processing system that handles direct deposits. They said payments are being processed in batches throughout the week instead of all at once like normal. The representative assured me that all payments showing 'paid' status will be deposited by the end of this week. They're working on resolving the issue, but didn't provide a specific timeframe beyond 'as soon as possible.'

Thank you so much for this info! How were you able to get through to an actual person? I've been trying all day with no luck.

This is EXACTLY why I have zero faith in ESD's system anymore. They're always having these "technical issues" that just happen to delay paying people their money. And of course they don't bother to put any notice on their website or send texts to warn people! Some of us have bills to pay and can't just wait around while they get their act together. I bet if it was THEM waiting for a paycheck they'd fix it a lot faster.

true that! same thing with tax refunds... government sure moves slow when they owe YOU money lol

After dealing with ESD for almost a year now, I've learned you need to build a 2-week buffer in your budget if possible. Their systems are just too unreliable. Hope your payment comes through soon!

That's good advice, though easier said than done. I'll definitely try to save up a buffer once I get through this tight spot.

When I had issues with delayed payments last month, I was able to speak with an ESD agent immediately using Claimyr. It's a service that gets you through to ESD without waiting on hold for hours. I was hesitant at first, but it worked perfectly - got me connected to an agent in about 10 minutes instead of spending hours on hold. They have a demo video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 and their website is claimyr.com. The agent was able to see exactly what was happening with my payment and gave me the exact date it would arrive, which really eased my anxiety.

Thank you! I've never heard of this service before. Did they explain why your payment was delayed when you talked to them?

Yes, they told me there was a flag on my account that needed clearing - nothing I did wrong, just something in their system. The agent removed it while I was on the phone and my payment processed the next day. Definitely worth it when you're stressed about money and need answers right away.

Just an update for everyone - I checked the ESD website and they've now posted an alert about the payment delay issue. They're stating all payments should be deposited by Friday at the latest. They're also advising claimants NOT to file duplicate weekly claims as this will further complicate things.
