ESD says payment processed but direct deposit not in my bank account yet - delay?
I'm getting worried about my weekly unemployment payment. ESD website shows my claim as 'paid' since yesterday, but my bank account is still showing nothing as of 3:30 PM today. Normally the money hits my account by noon on Wednesdays without fail. Has anyone else noticed their direct deposit is delayed this week? I've got rent due Friday and I'm starting to stress. Anyone know if there's a system issue or bank holiday causing delays?

•Thanks for confirming I'm not the only one! Wonder if it's affecting everyone or just certain banks?

There's actually a processing delay with ACH payments due to high volume this week. My wife works at a credit union and mentioned it this morning. Most payments should post by end of day or early tomorrow. The ESD system marks payments as 'paid' when they're sent, not when they hit your account. If you have urgent bills, consider setting up alerts with your bank for when deposits hit.

UGGGGH this happens ALL THE TIME!!! ESD's system is SO broken!!! Last month they said my payment was processed but it took THREE DAYS to show up in my account. They don't care that people have bills to pay and mouths to feed. And just TRY getting through to someone on the phone to ask about it - IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!

If your payment doesn't arrive by tomorrow morning, I'd recommend contacting ESD directly. The online status is generally accurate about payments being processed, but sometimes there can be issues with the ACH transfer or your banking information might need verification. Last time I needed to reach an ESD agent about a missing payment, I used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got through in about 15 minutes instead of spending days redialing. They have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Totally worth it when you need to solve payment issues quickly.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give it until tomorrow morning and then try contacting them if needed. Never heard of Claimyr before - does it actually work? The ESD phone lines are always jammed when I try calling.

•Yes, it definitely works. I was skeptical too but was desperate after my payment was stuck in pending for two weeks. Got through to an actual person who fixed the issue while I was on the phone. Much better than the endless redial method I had been using.

I've been on unemployment since November and noticed the direct deposits are getting less predictable lately. Sometimes it's there at 9am, sometimes not until late afternoon. I think they're processing more claims since those January layoffs in tech hit. One thing to check - make sure your payment method didn't accidentally switch to the debit card. That happened to my sister and she was checking her bank account while the money was sitting on the ESD card she never activated!

•Ohhh that's a good point about the debit card! Just checked my account settings and it still shows direct deposit as my payment method, so that's not it. But good to know the timing has been inconsistent for others too. Makes me feel a bit better!
