Is ESD unemployment payment delayed this week? Still waiting for mine today
Usually my unemployment benefits hit my account by 9am on Wednesday, but it's already 2pm and nothing's shown up yet. Is anyone else experiencing a delay with their ESD payment this week? I checked my eServices account and it shows my weekly claim was processed and approved as usual, but the money just hasn't arrived. Getting kind of worried since my rent is due tomorrow. Anyone know if there's some kind of system issue or holiday delay happening?

I'm in the same boat!! Was expecting payment this morning like always but nothing has shown up yet. I called my bank and they said there's no pending deposits either. I'm starting to freak out a bit because I have automatic payments scheduled for tomorrow that will bounce if this doesn't come through!!

•This happens sometimes. Last month mine was a day late and I nearly had a heart attack. But it showed up eventually. The ESD system is so unpredictable sometimes!

This might be related to the scheduled maintenance they were doing on the ESD system last night. I got an email notification about it saying some services would be temporarily unavailable from 10pm to 2am. Sometimes these maintenance periods can delay payment processing by 24-48 hours. Check your eServices account and see if there's a payment issue listed or if it still shows as pending rather than paid. If it shows as paid but hasn't hit your account, I'd give it until tomorrow morning before getting too concerned.

•Thanks for the info! I didn't get any email about maintenance. Just checked eServices again and it shows the payment as 'processed' with yesterday's date, but definitely nothing in my bank account yet. I'll try to be patient until tomorrow.

UGH the SAME thing is happening to me!!! This is the THIRD time in two months that my payment has been late and ESD never explains WHY. Im so sick of their unreliable system... I have bills that need to be paid TODAY not whenever they feel like processing my claim!!!!!

If you need to reach ESD to ask about your payment status, I'd recommend using Claimyr. I was in a similar situation last month with an unexplained payment delay and spent hours trying to get through on the regular phone line. Finally tried Claimyr (claimyr.com) and they got me connected to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes. •Thanks for the suggestion. If my payment doesn't show up by tomorrow morning, I'll definitely look into this. The thought of trying to call ESD directly is so daunting - last time I needed to speak with someone I gave up after being on hold for 2+ hours.

I'm experiencing this delay too. Called ESD after waiting for 3 hours (!) and they told me there was a processing backlog due to the system maintenance and that payments should all be completed by tomorrow afternoon. The representative said they're aware of the issue and working on it, so at least we know it's not just us. She recommended not filing any additional claims or inquiries as that might further delay processing.

My sister-in-law works for the state (not ESD though) and she mentioned something about a new payment processing system being implemented this week. Maybe that's related? She said several departments were having to adjust to new software rollouts. Probably just growing pains with the new system.

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know my payment finally came through this morning at 6:30am. Looks like it was just delayed by about 18 hours. Hope everyone else has received theirs too!

•Glad to hear it resolved itself! For future reference, if you ever experience a delay longer than 3 business days, that's when you should definitely contact ESD directly as it could indicate an issue with your claim that needs addressing.
