Weekly claim stuck on 'processing' longer than usual - anyone else experiencing delays?
This is my 8th week filing for unemployment and something weird is happening. My weekly claim from Sunday is still showing 'processing' in my ESD account. Usually by Wednesday morning (even during holiday weeks) it shows 'paid' with a payment date. I've double-checked and there are no alerts or issues flagged on my account. I'm starting to worry because rent is due next week and I'm cutting it close. Is the ESD system experiencing delays? Is anyone else stuck on 'processing' status this week? Should I be concerned or just wait it out a bit longer?

same thing happenng with me rn! my claim from sunday is still stuck on processing and i usually get paid on wed. maybe system is backed up or something?

ESD sometimes experiences processing delays during the first week of a new quarter. We just entered Q2 2025, so that might explain it. I've noticed these quarterly delays can push payments back 1-2 days. Unless you have a specific alert or issue flagged, I wouldn't worry too much yet. If it's still showing 'processing' after 5 business days, then I'd recommend trying to contact them.

SAME PROBLEM!!! I've been on UI since February and this is the first time my payment is late! It's ALWAYS in my account by Wednesday but today...NOTHING! My claim is still "processing" and I'm freaking out because I have auto-payments scheduled for Friday. THIS IS SO STRESSFUL!!! Has anyone called ESD? I tried but got disconnected after waiting 45 minutes!!!!

•I tried calling too. Got the "high call volume" message and it hung up on me. Typical ESD. They probably messed something up in their system again and aren't telling anyone.

This seems to be a widespread issue this week. I work for a community resource center, and we've had multiple clients report the same problem with their UI claims still showing as "processing." From what we've been told, ESD implemented a software update on Sunday night that has caused some delays in processing. They expect all pending claims to be processed by tomorrow (Thursday). If your claim hasn't changed status by Friday morning, that's when I'd recommend contacting them directly.

•my neighbor works at esd and said same thing about the update. they're working overtime to fix it but there's thousands of claims backed up. happened last year too i think

Just checked my account - mine just switched from "processing" to "paid" about 10 minutes ago. Payment date shows tomorrow. Maybe they're just going through the backlog now? Check your accounts again, might be updating in batches.
