ESD payment says 'paid' but still not in my account after 3 days - normal delay?

I just checked my unemployment claim status this morning and it shows 'paid' for my weekly claim from last week (filed Sunday), but the money isn't in my bank account yet. Usually the funds hit within 24-48 hours after it changes to paid, but it's been 3 days now. I'm getting worried because my rent is due on Friday and I'm counting on this payment. My direct deposit info hasn't changed and I've never had this issue before with previous payments. Anyone else experiencing delays with their ESD payments this week? Is this normal or should I be concerned? How long should I wait before contacting ESD?

That makes me feel slightly better that I'm not the only one. Have you had this happen before? How long did it take to resolve?

This happens sometimes. If your claim shows

Thanks for the explanation. Today is the 3rd business day since it switched to paid, so I'll give it until tomorrow morning. Do you know if there's a way to check if the payment was actually sent electronically? I can't find that info on my ESD account.

Check ur bank to see if theres a pending deposit. Sometimes it shows as pending for 24hrs b4 it actually posts to ur account. My credit union does this EVERY TIME with my UI payments.

I just checked again and nothing showing as pending either. I bank with Chase if that matters.

This happened to me twice in the past few months. In my case, there was actually an issue with my bank's ACH processing system, not with ESD. The first time, I panicked and spent hours trying to reach ESD, only to have the money appear in my account later that day. \n\nIf your payment history in eServices shows \

UGH the ESD payment system is SO UNRELIABLE!! I've been dealing with them for months and sometimes it takes 2 days, sometimes 5 days, and they NEVER explain why!!! I had THREE PAYMENTS IN A ROW that were delayed last month and when I finally got through to someone they just said \

While I understand your frustration, I should clarify that once ESD shows \

If you need to actually reach someone at ESD (which I recommend if it's not in your account by tomorrow), I'd suggest using Claimyr. I was in your exact situation last month - payment showed paid for 5 days with nothing in my account. Turned out there was a flag on my account that needed clearing. I spent days trying to get through on the regular ESD line with no luck, then I tried Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got connected to an ESD agent in about 15 minutes. They have a demo video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 \n\nThe agent I spoke with was able to see exactly what happened with my payment and fixed it while I was on the phone. Money was in my account the next day.

Thanks for the tip - I've never heard of this service before. Does it actually work to get through to real ESD agents? I've been calling the regular number for months whenever I have issues and it's always just busy signals or disconnects.

Yes, it connects you to the actual ESD call center - same agents you'd talk to if you got through on your own. The difference is they navigate the phone system for you and hold your place in line. It saved me hours of frustration.

I'll definitely try this tomorrow if the money doesn't show up. At this point I'm desperate to talk to someone who can actually tell me what's going on.

Quick update - the payment just hit my account about an hour ago! Looks like it was just a processing delay. Thanks everyone for the reassurance and advice. I'll definitely keep Claimyr in mind for the future if I run into more serious issues that require talking to a representative.

Great news! Glad it resolved itself. For future reference, I recommend always keeping track of the actual business days since a payment shows as \
