ESD payment delay today - not in my bank account at usual time
Anyone else having issues with their unemployment payment not showing up today? I normally get my ESD direct deposit by 10am every Tuesday, but it's already 1pm and nothing's hit my account yet. My weekly claim was approved and shows as 'paid' on the ESD website since yesterday afternoon. Starting to get worried since my rent is due tomorrow. Is there some kind of delay in the system today or should I be calling ESD about this?

same thing happening to me! usually hits my account around 9am but nothing today. my claim status says paid too. really stressing because I have autopay bills set up for tomorrow!!

•This happens sometimes when there's a bank holiday or processing delay. If your claim shows 'paid' on the ESD website, the money has been sent - it's just taking longer to process through the banking system. I'd give it until end of day before getting too worried.

ESD systems have been glitchy lately. My adjudicator told me they did a system update over the weekend that's been causing all kinds of issues. If your claim shows as paid, the money is coming - just delayed. The banking system can take up to 72 hours for ACH transfers even when ESD claims it's 'same day'.

If you need to reach ESD to check on your payment status, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was in a similar situation last month and spent hours trying to get through on the regular line. Used their service and got connected to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. The agent was able to confirm my payment was processing and gave me the exact time it would hit my account.

•Yes, I've used them twice. Both times I got through to someone at ESD when I couldn't on my own. It's especially helpful when you need answers right away about money that's supposed to be in your account.

Just so everyone knows, there is actually a notice on the ESD website about payment delays today due to "processing adjustments" - it's on the banner at the top of the eServices page. They're saying payments might be delayed by 12-24 hours but should all process by tomorrow. I just saw it when I logged in to check my own claim.

this is the third time this year theyve had "processing issues" with payments!! im so sick of depending on this broken system! every time this happens i get hit with late fees that nobody reimburses me for!!!!!

•It's frustrating for sure. One tip: call your billing companies right away when you know there will be a delay and explain the situation. Most will waive late fees if you're proactive and have a good payment history. I've had to do this several times during my unemployment period.

UPDATE: My payment just came through about 10 minutes ago (around 5:30pm). Much later than usual but at least it's here before rent is due. Hope everyone else gets theirs soon too!
