ESD payment shows 'paid' but no direct deposit today - bank holiday delay?
Anyone else having issues with direct deposit today? My weekly claim shows 'paid' status in my ESD account but the money hasn't hit my bank account like it usually does on Wednesday morning. I'm freaking out a bit because rent is due and I was counting on this payment. The only thing I can think of is maybe today's considered some kind of banking holiday that's delaying the deposit? Nothing shows on any holiday calendar I checked. Has anyone else's payment been delayed today or is it just me? How long should I wait before contacting ESD?

This sometimes happens with the ACH system (that's what they use for direct deposits). Several banks process these payments in batches, and yes, some holidays can delay things by a day even if they're not major federal holidays. Which bank do you use? I've noticed smaller credit unions sometimes take an extra day compared to the bigger banks. If ESD shows it as paid, I wouldn't worry too much yet - give it until end of day or tomorrow morning before panicking.

•I'm with Chase. I've never had a delay before - it's always there when I wake up on Wednesday. Really stressful when you're counting on it for bills. I'll try to be patient until tomorrow, thanks.

Ugh this ALWAYS happens!! ESD's system says paid but the banks take FOREVER to actually put the money in our accounts. I've been dealing with unemployment for 8 months now and there's ALWAYS some new problem. One week the payment goes through fine, next week it's delayed for no reason, then you can't get through to anyone on the phone to ask why. The system is designed to make us suffer I swear.

•While frustrating, these delays are usually banking issues rather than ESD problems. Once ESD shows 'paid,' they've done their part - the delay is in the banking system. ACH transfers can take 1-2 business days, and yes, some banking holidays that aren't federal holidays can cause minor delays.

I had this exact problem last month! ESD showed paid but no money for 2 days. I spent HOURS trying to call ESD with no success - constant busy signals or disconnects. Finally I found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me through to an actual ESD agent in about 30 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. The agent confirmed my payment was processed correctly and it was just a bank delay. Money showed up the next morning. Saved me so much stress!

•Is that service legit? I've seen it mentioned before but skeptical of anything that claims to get through ESD's phone system lol. Might try it next time I have an issue though.

•Thursday!? That's scary. I hope mine doesn't take that long. At least it sounds like it'll come through eventually. Thanks for sharing your experience.

To answer your original question - today (March 15, 2025) isn't a federal banking holiday, but there are sometimes processing delays due to month-end reconciliation periods at some financial institutions. If your payment normally appears Wednesday morning and ESD shows it as 'paid,' I would expect it by tomorrow at the latest. For future reference, here's the process: ESD typically processes payments 48 hours after you submit your weekly claim. Then it goes through the ACH banking system which can take 1-3 business days depending on your bank's processing schedule. If you don't see it by Friday morning, that's when I'd contact ESD to investigate further.

•Thank you for the detailed explanation! I didn't realize all those steps were involved after ESD marks it paid. I'll try to be more patient. I just submitted my job search log for this week too so hopefully next week goes smoother.

•OMG you're right! Mine just posted too! What a relief. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance through my minor freakout. Guess it was just a random delay.
