TWC issued $0.00 payment despite active claim - What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm freaking out right now. I just checked my unemployment account and saw that I was issued a $0.00 payment! What's going on? I know for sure I haven't exhausted my benefits yet. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm worried about how I'm gonna pay my bills this month. Any advice on what I should do or say when I call the unemployment office?

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Don't panic (easier said than done, I know) 2. Gather all your claim info and recent letters from TWC 3. When you call, explain calmly that you got a $0 payment but haven't used up your benefits 4. Ask them specifically: - Why did this happen? - Is there a glitch in your account? - What do you need to do to fix it? - When can you expect it to be resolved? Stay strong, and don't let them brush you off! 💪

•This is solid advice. I'd also recommend taking notes during the call. Sometimes these convos can get confusing, and it helps to have everything written down.

•Good list, but you forgot the most important step: prepare to be on hold for 3 hours 🙃

•Days?! 😱 I hope it doesn't take that long for me. Did they at least backpay you for the missed payment?

•Yeah, they did backpay me. But it was super stressful waiting for it to come through. Just keep bugging them!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

•Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work? Is it legit?

•It's totally legit! They use some kind of auto-dialer tech to get through the menu and wait on hold. When a real person answers, it connects to your phone. Saved me hours of frustration.

•I get the skepticism, but when you're desperate to talk to someone and can't waste a whole day on hold, it's worth it. Just sharing what worked for me 🤷♂️

This whole system is a joke. They can't even process payments right, and we're the ones who suffer. Time for a complete overhaul! 🤬

•Preach! 🙌 I've been saying this for years. The unemployment system is stuck in the stone age.

Hey OP, any update? Were you able to get through to someone and figure out what happened?

Pro tip: call right when they open. I always have better luck getting through first thing in the morning.

lol welcome to the club. $0 payments are TWC's way of saying 'we see you, we just don't care' 🤡

Guys, I think I figured out why this happens sometimes. If your benefit year is ending soon, the system might glitch and show $0 even if you have weeks left. Worth asking about when you call!

•Oh that's interesting! My benefit year does end next month. I'll definitely bring this up when I finally get through. Thanks for the tip!

•Good catch! This happened to me too, and it was exactly because of the benefit year ending. They had to manually adjust it.

This happened to my sister a few months back! Turned out there was an issue with her weekly certification that flagged something in the system. Even though she answered all the questions correctly, some automated check triggered and zeroed out her payment. The rep she spoke to said it happens more often than you'd think. Make sure to ask them to review your most recent certification answers when you call - sometimes they can see what triggered the flag and fix it right away. Hope you get it sorted soon! 🙏

•That's really helpful to know! I never would have thought to ask them to check my certification answers. I always worry I'm missing something when I fill those out each week. Did your sister have to do anything special to prevent it from happening again, or was it just a one-time glitch?
