EDD certifications showing $0.00 payment - What's going on?
Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated right now. I've been certifying for unemployment but my payments are showing up as $0.00. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't understand why this is happening when I'm following all the steps correctly. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, that sucks! I had a similar issue last month. Have you checked your claim balance? Sometimes it shows $0 if your benefit year ended or if you've exhausted your benefits.

•Thanks for the suggestion. I checked my claim balance and it still shows I have money left. So confused rn 😫

•True that! EDD's website is like from the stone age 😂 Might be worth calling them to sort it out

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

•I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. Saved me hours of frustration. The $20 was worth it to finally get my issue resolved.

•How long did you have to wait after using the service?

•Not long at all! Maybe 30 minutes? Way better than the hours I spent trying to get through on my own.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check all your certification answers. Even small mistakes can result in $0 payments. 2. Look for any pending interviews or requests for additional information in your EDD inbox. 3. Verify your identity hasn't been flagged for fraud (unfortunately common these days). 4. If everything looks good on your end, you'll need to contact EDD directly. 5. Be persistent! Sometimes it takes multiple attempts to get through. If none of this works, consider reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They can often help expedite EDD issues. Good luck! The system is frustrating, but don't give up. You'll get it sorted out eventually.

•6 weeks? That's rough buddy. Have you tried contacting your local rep? Sometimes they can light a fire under EDD's a**

Plot twist: What if we all storm the EDD office like it's Area 51? They can't stop all of us! 👽💨

•Y'all are hilarious 🤣 But for real, let's not. I don't wanna explain to a judge why I thought raiding a government office was a good idea

Have you checked if there's been any recent changes to unemployment policies? Sometimes they implement new rules and don't communicate them well.

•I haven't heard of any changes, but that's a good point. Where would I find that kind of info?

•Check the EDD website or their social media. They sometimes post updates there. Also, local news sites might cover major changes.

Serious question: has anyone successfully sued EDD for delays? This is getting ridiculous.

•I've heard of class action lawsuits being discussed, but nothing concrete yet. Might be worth looking into tho

Pro tip: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. If you need to escalate, having a paper trail is crucial.

I went through this exact same thing last month! Turned out there was a "work search requirement" flag on my account that I didn't know about. Even though I was doing everything right during certification, the system automatically flagged me because I hadn't logged enough job search activities in their CalJOBS system. Once I went back and entered my job searches for the previous weeks, my payments processed within 3 days. Check your UI Online account for any alerts or messages - sometimes they're buried in weird places. Also worth checking if you accidentally answered "yes" to any of the questions about working or refusing work during certification. Hope this helps!
