EDD won't let me certify for benefits - system glitch?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble certifying for my unemployment benefits. The system won't let me do it and I'm not sure why. Has anyone else run into this issue recently? I really need to get this sorted out ASAP. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes thats the only way to get things fixed.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold last week.

I had the same issue last month. Turns out there was a glitch in the system that was preventing some people from certifying. It took about a week, but they eventually fixed it on their end. Hang in there!

Have you checked your UI Online account to see if there are any messages or alerts? Sometimes they'll post important info there about certification issues.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•20 bucks? That's highway robbery! 🤑

•I get it, but when you're dealing with potentially thousands in benefits, $20 to actually get help is a small price to pay.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for months: 1. Always check your UI Online account for updates 2. Try certifying at odd hours (like 2 AM) when the system is less busy 3. If you can't certify online, try using TeleCert 4. Keep a record of all your attempts to certify 5. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes escalate issues with EDD Hope this helps! Don't give up, the system is frustrating but you'll get through it eventually.

I swear EDD is run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels. How hard is it to make a system that actually works?

Guys, I just saw on Twitter that EDD is doing system maintenance this week. That might be why some people are having trouble certifying. They said it should be resolved by Friday.

This is so frustrating! I'm dealing with the exact same issue right now. Been trying to certify for three days and the system just keeps giving me error messages. It's really stressing me out because I can't afford to miss my certification deadline. Has anyone tried using the mobile app instead of the website? Sometimes different platforms work better when there are glitches.

•Hey Nina! I tried the mobile app when I had similar issues a few months back and it actually worked better than the website. The app seemed more stable during peak times. Also, try clearing your browser cache if you haven't already - that fixed it for me once. Hang in there, you're not alone in this struggle! 💪

I'm going through the same thing right now! Been stuck on this for two days. What's really helped me is trying to certify super early in the morning (like 5-6 AM) when fewer people are on the system. Also, make sure you're not using any browser extensions that might interfere - I had to disable my ad blocker to get it to work. If you're still having issues, document everything with screenshots so you have proof you tried to certify on time. The EDD system is notorious for these glitches but they usually honor your certification if you can show you made legitimate attempts. Good luck!

•This is really helpful advice, thank you! I never thought about trying in the early morning hours. I've been attempting during normal business hours when everyone else is probably doing the same thing. The screenshot documentation tip is brilliant too - I should have been doing that from the start. It's such a relief to know that others have gotten through similar issues and that EDD will usually work with you if you can prove you tried. Definitely going to set my alarm for 5 AM tomorrow and give it another shot! 🤞

I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now! Been trying to certify since yesterday and keep getting kicked out of the system. It's so stressful when you're depending on these benefits. I tried calling this morning but gave up after being on hold for 2 hours. Thanks to everyone sharing their tips here - I'm going to try certifying at 5 AM tomorrow and also check the mobile app. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one struggling with this system. Hopefully they get these glitches sorted out soon! 🤞
