How to change payment method for previous UC certification? URGENT help needed!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble changing my payment method for my previous unemployment certification. Has anyone gone through this process before? I'm not sure where to start or who to contact. Any advice would be really appreciated!

I had to do this a few months ago. It's a bit of a hassle, but here's what worked for me: 1. Log into your UI account online 2. Look for a section called 'Payment Information' or something similar 3. There should be an option to update your payment method 4. If you can't find it online, you'll need to call the UI office Hope this helps! Let me know if you need any more info.

•Thanks for the detailed response! I'll give that a try. Did you have any issues with the online system when you did it?

•No problem! The online system was pretty straightforward for me, but I've heard some people have had glitches. If you run into any issues, definitely call them.

•I tried this method last week and the website was down for maintenance 🙄 Typical government efficiency lol

Ugh, good luck. I've been trying to get through to someone on the phone for weeks. The hold times are insane!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through in only 45 minutes last Tuesday!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

•Sure! You choose the department you need to reach, pay the fee, and they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings and you're connected. No guarantee, but they keep trying for 48 hours.

have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds old school, but I got a response within 2 days when I faxed my request

This whole system is so broken. Why can't they just have a simple online form for this stuff? 🤦♂️

I had to change my payment method last year. Here's what you need to know: 1. First, try the online portal. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. 2. If online doesn't work, you'll need to call. Be prepared for long wait times. 3. Have your claim number, SSN, and new payment info ready. 4. Be patient with the rep - they're dealing with a lot. 5. Ask for a confirmation number or email after the change is made. 6. Follow up in a week if you don't see the change reflected. It's a pain, but persistence is key. Good luck!

Anyone else notice that the UI website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things through faster.

I went through this exact same situation about 3 months ago! The online system was completely useless for me - kept getting error messages. What finally worked was calling the main UC line at 8:00 AM sharp when they open. I got through after about an hour on hold (which honestly isn't too bad compared to some horror stories I've heard). The rep was actually pretty helpful and changed my payment method right there on the call. Make sure you have your claim number, SSN, and new bank account/routing info ready. They'll give you a confirmation number - write that down! The change took about 3-5 business days to show up in my account. Hang in there, it's frustrating but definitely doable!
