EDD payment stopped since Nov 8 - No updates, can't reach anyone. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I haven't received any unemployment payments since November 8th. It's been over a month now and I'm getting worried. I tried calling EDD to check on the status, but no luck getting through. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last month. Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there are messages or updates there that explain the hold-up.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been checking my account daily, but there's nothing new there. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: Set up email notifications for your UI Online account. That way you don't have to keep logging in to check for updates. Saved me a ton of anxiety!

I hate to say it, but welcome to EDD hell. 🔥 I've been waiting since October for my payments to resume. The system is totally broken.

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're playing games with our lives. How are we supposed to survive without income for months?

Have you guys tried contacting your local assembly member? I've heard they can sometimes help speed things up with EDD.

Hey, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. EDD should do better.

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through and sorted out my issue. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

Here's what I've learned from my EDD nightmare: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and account updates. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Check for any pending certifications or additional info requests in your account. 4. If possible, try to certify by phone instead of online. Sometimes it processes faster. 5. Reach out to your local assembly member or state senator. They can often help. 6. Join Facebook groups for California unemployment support. Lots of good info there. 7. If all else fails, consider filing an appeal. Hang in there, OP. It's a tough system to navigate, but don't give up!

This should be pinned at the top of the subreddit. So helpful!

Plot twist: EDD is actually run by a bunch of sloths 🦥 That's why everything moves so slow lmao

Nah, sloths are cute. EDD is more like a dumpster fire run by clowns 🤡🔥

I'm curious, did you receive any kind of notice or letter from EDD about your claim status? Sometimes they send important info by mail that doesn't show up online.

Now that you mention it, I did get a letter about a month ago asking for additional identity verification. I sent that back right away, but haven't heard anything since. Could that be causing the delay?

Bingo! That's probably whats holding things up. Identity verification can take weeks to process. Definitely mention this when you finally get through to someone on the phone.
