EDD Payment Delay: Latest Payment Not Received, What to Do?

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment payments. I haven't received my latest payment and I'm not sure what's going on. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if I should be expecting another call from EDD or if there's something else I need to do. Any advice would be appreciated!

I found a way to solve unemployment payment delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ql_c0jM1P1I

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Haven't gotten my payment either and it's been over a week. EDD is such a mess rn 🤦‍♂️

A week? Consider yourself lucky. I've been waiting for almost a month now. This system is broken af

Have you guys tried calling? Sometimes theres a hold on ur account and u dont even know it

Calling? Lol good luck with that. I've tried like 50 times and can never get through 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate and tried it. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They called me when an agent was on the line.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending certifications or notifications 2. Make sure your contact info is up to date 3. Look for any emails from EDD (check spam folder too) 4. If you can't find any issues, try to contact them through UI Online 5. As a last resort, keep calling until you get through Sometimes payments get delayed due to identity verification issues or random audits. Don't panic, but definitely stay on top of it. Good luck!

Thanks for the detailed response! I'll go through these steps and see what I can find out.

This is solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. You never know when you'll need that info.

am i the only 1 who thinks its ridiculous we gotta jump thru all these hoops just to get our money? 🤔 the system is a joke

Has anyone heard about the new bill they're trying to pass to 'streamline' the EDD process? Wonder if it'll actually help or just make things worse 🙄

I read about that! Supposedly it'll make things faster, but I'll believe it when I see it. Politicians always promise the moon 🌙

Knowing our luck, it'll probably just add more red tape 🙃

Pro tip: if you're having trouble getting your payment, try reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite things with EDD. Worked for me!

This is actually great advice. My cousin did this and got her issue resolved in like a week. Def worth a shot!

Hey @Mei Lin, I went through something similar last month. First thing I'd recommend is logging into your UI Online account and checking if there are any "pending issues" or flags on your claim. Sometimes they put a hold without sending proper notification. Also check if you have any outstanding certification weeks - that's a common cause of delays. If everything looks clear on your end, definitely try the assembly member route that @Connor O'Neill mentioned. It's free and actually works faster than trying to get through to EDD directly. Hang in there, these payment hiccups usually resolve within 1-2 weeks once you get the right person to look at your case!

@Roger Romero this is really helpful! I didn t'know about the assembly member option - that sounds way better than trying to call EDD 50 times a day. Quick question: do you just call their office directly or is there a specific process to follow? I m'dealing with the same payment delay issue and getting pretty frustrated with the whole system.
