EDD Notice of Computation received but no payments since Dec 8th - What to do?
Hey everyone, I just got a notice of computation saying I'll be receiving unemployment benefits. But I haven't gotten any payments since December 8th. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do when I call EDD about it?

Ugh, classic EDD bs. I've been in the same boat. Here's what you need to do: 1. Get all your docs ready before you call. Have that notice of computation and any other paperwork handy. 2. When you get through (if you ever do 🙄), ask about EACH missing payment since Dec 8th. Don't let them gloss over anything. 3. Demand to know why there's a delay when you've already got the computation notice. 4. If they give you the runaround, ask to speak to a tier 2 specialist. 5. Document everything! Get the rep's name and ID number. Good luck, you're gonna need it with these clowns 🤡

•This is solid advice. I'd add: be prepared to wait on hold for hours. Bring snacks and a good book lol

•fr fr 💯 I spent my whole day off just trying to get through. It's like they're allergic to answering the phone

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? That's steep. EDD should be picking up their own damn phones for free 😤

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me days of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•How long did you have to wait after using the service?

•It took about 2 hours, but I just went about my day and got a call when an agent was ready. Way better than being glued to the phone all day

have you tried checking your UI online account? sometimes the payments show up there before you actually get them

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was a flag on my account for potential fraud (even tho I did nothing wrong). Took weeks to sort out. Make sure to ask if there are any holds or flags when you call!

Has anyone tried contacting their state representative? I've heard that can sometimes speed things up when EDD is being particularly useless.

•I did this! It actually helped. Took about a week, but my rep's office got EDD to resolve my issue. Def worth a shot if you're getting nowhere with EDD directly.

•That's a great idea, I hadn't even thought of that. I'll give it a try if I can't get anywhere with EDD. Thanks!
