Missed EDD interview - what now? Any advice?
Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my unemployment claim. I missed my interview and now I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else dealt with this? Did you get any kind of notice or letter about the missed interview? I'm really worried about my benefits being delayed or denied. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, been there done that. It's such a pain when you miss an interview. Did you try calling them? I had to call like 50 times before I got through to someone who could help me reschedule.

•I've been trying to call but no luck so far. It's so frustrating! How long did it take you to finally get through?

•It took me about 3 days of constant calling. I basically made it my full-time job lol. Keep at it, you'll get through eventually!

Check your mail carefully! They usually send a letter with instructions on what to do if you missed the interview. If you didn't get one, you might need to contact them ASAP.

I found a way to get someone on the phone quickly. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20 just to make a phone call? That's ridiculous. The EDD should fix their system instead.

•I know it sounds crazy, but it seriously saved me so much time and stress. Worth every penny imo.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your mail for any notices about the missed interview 2. Log into your EDD account and see if there are any messages or tasks 3. Try calling the EDD (I know, it's a pain, but keep trying) 4. If you can't get through, consider using a paid service like Claimyr to connect you 5. Once you get in touch, explain your situation and ask to reschedule 6. Be prepared with any documents or information they might need 7. Follow up with a written explanation if possible Don't panic! Missed interviews happen, and there's usually a way to fix it. Good luck!

•This is great advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every interaction. It might come in handy later.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things through with EDD.

•I hadn't even thought of that! How do I find out who my assembly member is?

•Just google '[your city] assembly member' and it should come up. Their offices are usually pretty helpful with EDD issues.
