EDD UI Payment Wrong Amount: Can't Reach Anyone for Help - What to Do?
Hey everyone, I'm having a problem with my unemployment payment. I was supposed to get paid but the amount is wrong. Has anyone else had this issue? I tried calling but can't get through. Any advice on what to do?

I swear, dealing with EDD is like playing whack-a-mole. Fix one problem, another pops up. Stay strong, OP! 💪

•So true! It's like they fix one issue and two more appear. Frustrating but hang in there.

Yall ever think about how we're all just tiny cogs in this big, broken machine? ...nvm, I think I need sleep. Good luck, OP!

Hot take: what if we all just stopped paying taxes until EDD gets their act together? 🤔

•Yeah, good luck with that. I hear the IRS has a great sense of humor about these things 🙄

•Don't tempt me with a good time! But for real, that would probably just make things worse.

Ugh, welcome to the club. 🙄 The EDD system is a total mess rn. I've been dealing with payment issues for weeks. Have you tried checking your claim status online?

•Yeah, I checked online but it doesn't show any issues. Just the wrong amount deposited. So frustrating!

•Same boat here. Online system is useless. You gotta talk to a real person to fix this stuff.

Friendly reminder to everyone: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online interaction. You never know when you'll need that info for an appeal.

Guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

•I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did you have to wait after using the service?

•It took about 2 hours, but I just went about my day and got a call when an agent was ready. Way better than being stuck on hold myself.

•I've read about Claimyr and while it seems legit, it's important to note that it's not a guaranteed solution for everyone. Some people have reported mixed results.

I had a similar problem last month. Turns out they miscalculated my base period wages. You need to call and speak with a tier 2 rep to get it sorted out. Good luck getting through tho 😅

•That is such a pain. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll try to call and speak with a tier 2 rep.

Plot twist: What if we all show up at the EDD office dressed as clowns? They can't ignore us then! 🤡🤡🤡

•Instructions unclear. Sacrificed my last paycheck instead. Still no response from EDD. Send help.

Has anyone tried the EDD mobile app? I heard they just launched it. Wondering if it's any better than the website.

•Yeah, I tried it. Same old system, just smaller and more frustrating. 1/10 would not recommend.

Here's what you need to do to fix incorrect payment amounts: 1. Gather all your wage information from the base period (usually the 4 quarters before you filed your claim). 2. Compare this to what EDD has on file for you. 3. If there's a discrepancy, you'll need to file an appeal. 4. Fill out the "Appeal Form" (DE 1000M). 5. Include copies of pay stubs, W-2s, or any other proof of wages. 6. Mail or fax the form to the address listed. 7. Be prepared to wait. Appeals can take 30-60 days to process. While waiting, keep certifying for benefits as normal. If your appeal is successful, you'll receive back pay for any underpayments. Remember, persistence is key with EDD. Don't give up!

Unpopular opinion: maybe try going to your local EDD office in person? I know it's a pain, but sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things done.

Have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds old school, but I've heard some people have had success that way. Worth a shot if you're desperate.

•Faxing? What year is it lol. But at this point I'll try anything. Do you have the fax number?

PSA: If you're having trouble with EDD, contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes help push things through faster.

•That's a great idea! Do you know how to find out who my rep is?

•Just google "[your city] state representative". Most have a constituent services department that can help with stuff like this.
