EDD approved my claim but no payments yet - what gives?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My unemployment application was approved last week, but I still haven't received any payments. The state confirmed they got all my info back on 11/27, but nothing's happened since then. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, classic EDD nonsense. I swear they're always behind on everything. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that's the only way to get things moving.

•I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can snag a spot in the queue that way.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I got through in about 2 hours. Saved me days of frustration.

•$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so broken 🤮

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting so much time trying to get through on my own.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. Sometimes they need additional info but don't tell you. 2. If nothing there, try contacting your local assemblyperson's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help push things along. 3. Keep a detailed log of all your attempts to contact EDD. Dates, times, who you spoke to if you get through. 4. If it's been more than 10 business days since your approval, you can file an appeal. It sounds extreme, but sometimes it's the only way to get attention on your claim. 5. Check if you're eligible for any retroactive payments. If your approval was delayed, you might be owed for previous weeks. Remember, persistence is key with EDD. Don't give up!

I'm in the same boat, OP. Approved three weeks ago and still nothing. This whole system is a joke. 🤡

•Hang in there! It sucks but eventually it'll come through. Took me almost a month after approval.

Plot twist: what if EDD is actually run by squirrels and that's why everything takes so long? 🐿️🤔

Have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds ridiculous in 2023, but I've heard some people have had success getting attention that way.

guys i think we need to organize and do something about this. its not ok that so many of us are struggling to get the benefits we're entitled to. anyone interested in starting a petition or contacting local news?

•Great idea! Maybe we could start a hashtag campaign too? #FixEDDNow or something?
