DES hasn't sent any payments or payment method since May 2024 - What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I filed for unemployment benefits back in May 2024 and my claim period is supposed to run until May 2025. The problem is, I haven't received any payments or even a payment method yet. It's been months and I'm getting really worried. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next? I'm thinking about contacting DES, but I'm not sure what to say or how to approach this. Any help would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything: dates you filed, confirmation numbers, etc. 2. Write a clear, concise email to DES explaining your situation 3. Include your ID number and the exact date range you're missing payments for 4. Ask specific questions like: - What's the status of my payments? - Do you need any additional info from me? - What are the next steps to resolve this? Be persistent! It took me a few tries, but I finally got it sorted. Good luck!

•Thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll definitely follow these steps. Did you end up getting all your back pay?

•Yep, I got everything eventually. Took about 6 weeks after I sent that email, but it all came through. Just stay on top of it!

•This is great advice! I'd add one thing: keep a log of every interaction you have with DES. It came in handy for me when I had to escalate my case.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you can get more done over the phone than through email.

•I've tried, but I can never get through. It's always busy or I'm on hold forever. 😩

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. That's how I finally got through!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of hold time.

•20 bucks tho? That's steep when you're already hurting for cash...

•I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally talk to someone and get my issue resolved. Beats losing out on weeks of benefits.

This happened to my cousin. Turns out there was a glitch in the system and his claim got stuck. Def reach out to them ASAP!

OP, make sure you're checking your spam folder too! Sometimes important emails from DES end up there. Learned that one the hard way 🤦♂️

•Good call! Just checked and nothing there, but I'll keep an eye on it from now on.

Anyone else notice how these problems always seem to happen right when you need the money most? It's like they're doing it on purpose I swear

Hey, have you checked if there's a local unemployment office you can visit in person? Sometimes face-to-face can get things moving faster.
