EDD Claim Stuck in Pending Since July - What to Do?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. My unemployment claim has been stuck in pending status since July 3rd, and I haven't been able to work since then. It's been months now, and I'm starting to get really worried. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do to get this resolved? I'm not sure what else they need from me at this point.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last year. Have you tried calling EDD? It's a nightmare, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•I've tried calling so many times, but I can never get through. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

•30 minutes? You got lucky! I was on hold for 3 hours last week 😭

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration.

•$20 seems steep just to make a phone call. Is it worth it?

•For me, it was totally worth it. I got my issue resolved in one call after weeks of trying on my own.

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there are messages or requests for additional info there that don't get sent by mail.

This is ridiculous. The system is so broken. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get our benefits. 🤬

Okay, let me break this down for you. I've been through this rodeo before, and here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account daily. Sometimes they need additional info and it's only posted there. 2. If you haven't already, upload all your identity documents. This includes your driver's license/state ID, social security card, and a recent utility bill. 3. Try calling early in the morning, right when they open. Be prepared to redial... a lot. 4. If you can't get through, consider using a paid service like Claimyr to connect you (as mentioned in another comment). 5. Reach out to your local assembly member's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help push your claim through. 6. Make sure you're still certifying for benefits every two weeks, even if your claim is pending. 7. If you've exhausted all options, file an appeal. You have the right to appeal any decision (or lack thereof) on your claim. Hang in there, OP. The system is a mess, but persistence pays off. Don't give up!

I'm in the exact same situation! Pending since June 28th. This is so stressful. Let me know if you figure anything out!

Plot twist: EDD is actually run by a bunch of sloths. That's why everything takes forever. 🦥
