EDD claim processing for over a month - what to do?
My unemployment claim has been processing for over a month now and I'm getting really worried. Has anyone else experienced such a long wait time? I'm not sure what to do at this point. Should I try calling them or just keep waiting? Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the same boat a few months ago. It took almost 6 weeks for my claim to go through. The system is so backed up right now, its ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that can help speed things up.

•Thanks for sharing your experience. I haven't tried calling yet, but I guess I should give it a shot. Did you have to wait on hold for a long time?

•Oh boy, get ready for a loooong wait. I was on hold for like 3 hours before I got through. But it was worth it in the end. Just make sure you have your phone charged and maybe some Netflix ready lol

•3 hours? You got lucky! I've been trying to get through for days and keep getting disconnected. This whole system is a joke 🤡

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your claim information, including your filing date and any notices you've received. 2. Call the EDD first thing in the morning when they open. That's usually the best time to get through. 3. Be prepared to explain your situation clearly and concisely. 4. Ask specific questions about why there's a delay and when you can expect your claim to be processed. 5. Take notes during the call, including the name of the representative you speak with. 6. If they can't help you, ask to speak with a supervisor. 7. Follow up with an email or through your online account to create a paper trail. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but you have a right to your benefits. Good luck!

•This is great advice! I'd also add: if you have any local government representatives (like a state assembly member), consider reaching out to their office. Sometimes they can help push things along.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•$20 to actually talk to a human? That's highway robbery! 😤 The system is so broken if we have to pay extra just to get basic service.

•I get the frustration, but for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, you know? 🤷♂️

This is why we need to vote for better leadership. The current administration has completely failed us when it comes to managing unemployment. It's a disgrace! 😡

•Oh please, don't make this political. The system has been broken for years, regardless of who's in charge. 🙄

•Wake up! Everything is political. If we don't speak up, nothing will change!

Hang in there, OP! I know it's tough, but try to stay positive. Have you considered looking into any temporary work while you wait? Might help ease some financial stress.

•Thanks for the encouragement. I've been doing some gig work on the side, but it's not enough to cover all my expenses. Just hoping this gets resolved soon.
