EDD claim pending for over a month - submitted docs in February, still no progress. Help!

My unemployment claim has been pending for over a month now. I submitted all the required documents back in February, but it's still not processed. Has anyone else experienced such long delays? I'm getting really frustrated with how slow the system is. Any advice on how to speed things up or get someone to actually look at my claim?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been waiting for almost 2 months now. Its ridiculous how slow they are. Have you tried calling them? I heard sometimes that can help push things along.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's always busy or I'm on hold forever 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins of holding that way!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did you have to wait before they connected you?

It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to do anything. Just got a call when an agent was ready. Way better than being stuck on hold myself!

Have you checked your online account for any updates or messages? Sometimes they need additional info but don't always notify you directly.

I'm in the same boat, friend. Been waiting since January. The whole system is broken af 😤

January?! That's insane. Have you contacted your local representative? They can sometimes help speed things up.

No, I haven't. Didn't even know that was an option. How do I do that?

Just google your state assembly member or senator. Most have forms on their websites for constituent services. Worth a shot!

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research on dealing with EDD delays: 1. Keep checking your online account daily for updates or requests for additional information. 2. If you can, try calling first thing in the morning when they open. Be prepared to redial multiple times. 3. Use the 'Contact Us' form on the EDD website to submit a written inquiry about your claim status. 4. Consider reaching out to your local state representative or senator's office for assistance. 5. Document everything: dates you submitted documents, any communication attempts, etc. 6. If you receive any mail from EDD, respond immediately, even if it seems redundant. 7. Join Facebook groups or other online communities for unemployment support. Sometimes they have insider tips or can alert you to system updates. 8. If all else fails, filing a complaint with the state labor board can sometimes get things moving. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but your claim will get processed eventually. Hang in there!

Plot twist: EDD is actually run by sloths 🦥 That's why everything takes foreverrrrr

Nah, sloths would be an improvement. At least they move eventually 😂

I've heard rumors that they're prioritizing new claims over pending ones from a few months ago. Anyone know if there's any truth to that?

I doubt it. My claim is new (filed last week) and I'm still waiting. Think they're just swamped across the board.

I'm down. Maybe if we make enough noise they'll actually do something about the backlog.

Careful, don't wanna risk your claim getting 'lost' if you make too much trouble 👀
