EDD UI claim stuck on 'review required' - No communication, what to do?
My unemployment claim status is showing "review required" and it says they found an issue that might affect my eligibility. The problem is, I haven't gotten any emails or letters telling me how to fix this. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do? I'm getting worried because I really need this money and I don't know how long this will take to resolve.

The EDD system is such a joke. They expect us to jump through hoops while we're already struggling. It's like they want us to fail 🤡

•For real tho. It's like they're playing baseball and we're stuck in left field with no glove 😂

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep trying to call. It sucks, but it's the fastest way to get answers. 2. Check your UI Online account daily for any new messages or tasks. 3. Send a message through your UI Online account explaining the situation. 4. If you have a local EDD office, try going in person (if they're open). 5. Make sure all your info is up to date in the system. 6. Keep certifying for benefits even while under review. 7. If you have any documents that might help (pay stubs, ID, etc.), have them ready. Remember, "review required" doesn't always mean you did something wrong. Sometimes it's just a routine check. Hang in there!

•This is great advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. It could come in handy later.

•I agree with keeping a log. It can help if you need to escalate the issue or provide proof of your efforts to follow up.

I had this happen to me last year. Turns out they needed additional proof of identity. Check your spam folder too, sometimes their emails end up there.

•That's a good point. I initially missed an important email because it went straight to spam. It's frustrating but worth double-checking.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration.

•$20 to talk to someone at EDD? That's highway robbery! 😤

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things along with EDD.

•That's an interesting idea, but do state representatives actively help with cases like these? I'd be curious to hear if anyone has had success going that route.

Has anyone else noticed that these issues always seem to pop up right when rent is due? It's like they KNOW 🤔

•I know right? It's like Murphy's law with EDD sometimes!

idk man, sometimes these things just work themselves out. I had a similar issue and it cleared up after like 2 weeks without me doing anything. Maybe just wait it out?

•That's what happened to a friend of mine too. They were stressed about it, but it resolved on its own. Doesn't hurt to keep trying though.

When dealing with an unemployment claim showing a "review required" status, it's important to remain calm and proactive. First, attempt to reach the unemployment office by phone; calling early in the morning often yields better results. If phone calls are unsuccessful, check your online account regularly for any messages or tasks. Ensure that all your personal information is updated and accurate. Additionally, consider sending a message through the online portal to explain your situation and maintain a record of all your contact attempts in case you need to escalate the issue. Some users have benefited from using third-party services like Claimyr, which can connect you directly to an agent for a fee. However, evaluate this option based on your situation and budget. Remember, the "review required" status doesn't automatically imply wrongdoing on your part; it may be a routine check. If you're unable to resolve the issue independently, reaching out to local representatives or advocacy groups may provide additional support. Patience is key, as systemic inefficiencies can mean delays are common, but staying informed and persistent can help facilitate a resolution.

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating when they don't communicate clearly. Have you tried calling them? That's usually the best way to get answers.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I mean like, set an alarm and everything. It's annoying but it works
