EDD 4+ week delay on claim update, can't get paid, hundreds of calls no answer - help!
I've been waiting over a month for an update on my unemployment claim and still haven't heard anything back from EDD. I can't get paid by my employer until I get this update, so I'm really in a tight spot financially. I've tried calling hundreds of times but can't get through. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? Any advice on how to actually reach someone at EDD?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last year. It took me almost 2 months to get any kind of update. The system is so broken š¤

ā¢2 months?! That's insane. How did you manage to survive that long without income?

ā¢It was rough. Had to borrow money from family and max out my credit cards. Not ideal, but what can you do when the system fails you? š¤·āāļø

ā¢This is why we need serious reform in our unemployment system. It's a joke that people have to suffer like this.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They sometimes have direct lines to EDD and can help push your claim through faster.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then forwards the call to you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

ā¢I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it's real. Used it twice now and got through both times. Saved me hours of frustration.

ā¢I get that, but for me it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting so much time trying to call myself.

Pro tip: Try calling right when they open in the morning. I've had better luck getting through that way.

ā¢8am Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. Set your alarm and be ready to dial!

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for the past few months: ⢠Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. ⢠Document everything. Keep a log of when you call, who you talk to, and what they say. ⢠Check your online account regularly for any updates or messages. ⢠Make sure all your information is up to date and accurate. ⢠If you can't get through on the phone, try sending a message through your online account. ⢠As a last resort, contact your local representative or senator's office for help. Hang in there, OP. I know it's frustrating, but don't give up!

Anyone else think its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get what we're entitled to? The whole system needs an overhaul.

ā¢Preach! š It's like they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from claiming.

ā¢Totally agree. We pay into this system, it should work for us when we need it.
