EDD funds not received since Feb 8 - no notices or updates. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I haven't received my unemployment funds since February 8th. It's been over a month now and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? I haven't gotten any letters or notices from EDD about my claim since then. I'm not sure if there are any issues with my claim or if this is just a normal processing time. Any advice or similar experiences would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel ya. I was in the same boat last month. Have you tried calling EDD? It's a pain in the ass, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

lol good luck with that. i've been trying for weeks and still nothing

Check your UI Online account. Sometimes there are messages or requests for additional info there that don't get mailed out.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? That's a rip-off. EDD should be free to contact.

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

It took about an hour, but I didn't have to do anything. The service called me when an agent was on the line.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. 2. Make sure all your certifications are up to date. 3. If you haven't received any communication, there might be an issue with your mailing address. Verify it's correct in your account. 4. Try contacting your local assemblyperson or state senator. They can sometimes help push things through. 5. If all else fails, keep calling EDD. Use the trick of calling right at 8:01 AM when they open. Remember, patience is key. The system is overwhelmed, but persistence usually pays off. Good luck!

Thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll definitely try these steps. 🙏

This is solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online interaction. It might come in handy later.

have u checked ur bank account info on the edd site? sometimes they randomly change it for "security reasons" 🙄

0 coins

Oh wow, I didn't even think of that. I'll check right now, thanks!

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was an identity verification issue. Check if you have any pending ID verification tasks in your account.

3 months? Amateur hour. I'm going on 6 months now 💀

bruh that's insane. this system is so broken

Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblyperson? They can sometimes help speed things up with EDD.

0 coins

I didn't know that was an option. How do I find out who my assemblyperson is?

0 coins

Just Google "Find my California assemblymember" and enter your address. They usually have a form on their website for EDD issues.

guys i think i cracked the code. if u call and press 2 for employers, then 4 for general questions, u can sometimes get through to a real person faster. worked for me last week!

Isn't that kinda unethical tho? 🤔
