PFL claim submitted over a month ago, no payment or updates. SDI went smooth but PFL is MIA. Help?
Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated. I submitted my paid family leave claim over a month ago and still haven't received any payment or status update. My SDI claim went through smoothly, but this PFL claim is just sitting there. Has anyone else experienced long delays with their PFL claims? Any advice on how to speed things up or at least get some information?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been waiting for my PFL claim to process for almost 6 weeks now. It's ridiculous how long it takes. Have you tried calling them? I've heard some people have had luck getting through and getting updates that way.

•I've tried calling but can never get through. It's always busy or I'm on hold forever. Did you actually manage to talk to someone?

•Honestly, I gave up after trying for a week straight. It's like they don't want us to reach them 🙄

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 20 minutes on hold that way!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

•I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth it IMO.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with PFL claims: 1. Be patient. Unfortunately, delays are common, especially during busy periods. 2. Double-check all your documents. Make sure you've submitted everything they need. 3. Use their online portal to check for updates or missing info. 4. If you can get through on the phone, be polite but persistent. 5. Consider reaching out to your local state representative if it's been an excessive wait. Hang in there! The system is frustrating, but you'll get your benefits eventually.

•Thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely double-check my documents and try the online portal again.

•Great tips! I'd add: keep a log of all your calls and attempts to contact them. It can help if you need to escalate the issue later.

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from claiming.

•Totally agree. We pay into this system, it should work for us when we need it. Time for an overhaul!

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of uploading them online? I've heard some people say it's faster, but idk if that's just an urban legend at this point lol

Quick question - did you receive any kind of confirmation when you submitted your claim? I'm about to file mine and want to know what to expect.

•Yeah, I got an email confirmation right after I submitted. But that's been the only communication so far 😕

Not to be that person, but have you checked your spam folder? I almost missed an important update because it got filtered out.

•Good thinking! Just checked and... nope, nothing there either. Thanks for the suggestion tho!

I'm in the same boat, waiting since early November. This wait is killing me. Bills don't stop just because EDD is slow 😫

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other departments. Sometimes they can transfer you internally and it's faster than waiting on the main queue.

•Ooh, sneaky. I like it. Any specific departments you'd recommend trying?

•I've had luck with the general info line and the tech support line. Just be super polite and they're usually willing to help!
