PFL Status Update Delay - Anyone else waiting forever?
Has anyone else been waiting forever to get an update on their paid family leave status? I've been waiting for two days now and still nothing. Disability was supposed to pay them so they could pay me, but I'm starting to get worried. This delay is really stressing me out. Anyone else in the same boat or have any advice?

Two days? That's nothing, buddy. I've been waiting for over two weeks now. The system is so backed up, it's ridiculous. I've tried calling but can never get through to a real person. It's like they're purposely making it difficult for us to get our money.

•Seriously? Two weeks? That's insane! Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help speed things up.

•Yeah, I've thought about that. Might give it a shot if I don't hear anything by the end of this week. Thanks for the suggestion!

I feel your pain, OP. The waiting game is the worst. Have you tried checking your online account for any updates? Sometimes they update the status there before they actually contact you.

•Thanks for the tip! I've been checking obsessively, but still no change. I'll keep an eye on it though.

Okay, so here's what I've learned from my experience with paid family leave: 1. Be patient. It can take up to 2-3 weeks for them to process your claim, especially if it's your first time. 2. Make sure all your paperwork is in order. Any missing documents can cause major delays. 3. Keep calling. Yes, it's frustrating, but persistence pays off. 4. Check your online account daily for updates. 5. If you're really in a bind, contact your local representative or the ombudsman's office. 6. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and any correspondence. 7. If you have a union rep, reach out to them. They might be able to help. Hang in there, OP. The system is slow, but it does work... eventually.

•Great advice! I'd add one more thing: if you can, try to have some emergency savings. It's saved my butt more than once when dealing with these delays.

Has anyone tried using one of those paid services that call for you and wait on hold? I've heard mixed things, but I'm getting desperate.

•Actually, I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny.

•$20 to actually talk to a human? Might be worth it at this point. The hold music is driving me insane 🤮

unpopular opinion: maybe we should just be grateful we have paid family leave at all? some states don't even offer it.

•Bruh, just because it exists doesn't mean it should be a nightmare to access. We pay into this system, we deserve better.

•Fair points. I guess I'm just trying to see the bright side. But yeah, the system definitely needs improvement.

Anyone else notice that the website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🤔 Coincidence? I think not.

Pro tip: if you call right when they open, you have a better chance of getting through. Set your alarm for 7:55 AM and start dialing at 8:00 AM sharp. Good luck!
