EDD Paid Family Leave: Applied in Feb, No Updates Since. When Will I Get Paid?
Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated with my paid family leave situation. I applied back in February and got a call at the end of the month saying there was an issue. But they didn't leave any contact info for me to call back, and I haven't heard anything since! My online portal shows zilch. Anyone know what's going on or when I might actually see some money? This wait is killing me.

Ugh, that sucks! The EDD is such a mess. I had a similar experience last year - radio silence for months. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•I've tried calling so many times, but I can never get through. It's like their phone lines are permanently jammed 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

I feel your pain, OP. The EDD system is a total clown show 🤡 I've been waiting on my claim since January. It's like they're playing hot potato with our lives.

Hey, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It costs $20, but it totally worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

•I was skeptical too, but I swear it worked. Got through to an agent in like 2 hours instead of days of trying.

•$20 just to make a phone call? That's highway robbery!

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. Spent way more than $20 in time and frustration trying to get through on my own.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and portal checks. 2. Contact your local state representative. They often have liaisons who can cut through the red tape. 3. File a formal complaint with EDD. Sometimes this kicks them into gear. 4. Check if you qualify for any hardship programs while you wait. 5. Keep calling. Use the trick someone mentioned about calling right at opening time. 6. If all else fails, consider reaching out to local media. Bad press sometimes motivates them to act. Remember, persistence is key. Don't let them wear you down. You're entitled to these benefits!

•Good call, I'll double check my spam. My contact info should be current, but I'll verify that too. Thanks!

Not to be that guy, but are you sure you filled out the application correctly? I've seen people get hung up because they missed a box or entered something wrong.

•I'm pretty sure I did, but now you've got me paranoid 😅 Guess it can't hurt to double-check everything.

•Classic EDD, making us second-guess ourselves. Their forms are like solving a Rubik's cube blindfolded.

This might sound crazy, but have you tried faxing them? I know, welcome to 1995, right? But I swear, sometimes their fax line is less backed up than everything else.

Hang in there, OP. I know it feels hopeless, but keep pushing. I was in the same boat last year and eventually got it sorted. Sending good vibes your way! ❤️

•Thanks for the encouragement. It really helps to know I'm not alone in this mess.
