EDD Account Password Reset: Can't Remember Last Payment Date - Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble resetting my password for my EDD account. I can't remember my last payment date, which they're asking for. I tried calling but the agent couldn't help me. Any advice on how to get this sorted out? I'm getting pretty frustrated here.

Unpopular opinion: maybe this is a sign to stop relying on unemployment and find a job? 🤷♂️

•Thanks for the "advice", but I'm actually trying to access my account to close out an old claim. Not that it's any of your business.

OMG the EDD is such a joke. I've been trying to sort out my claim for MONTHS. It's like they don't want us to get our money 🤬

Pro tip: If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out on Twitter. Sometimes their social media team is more responsive.

Has anyone tried using the EDD mobile app? I heard it's easier to reset passwords there.

•It's worth a shot, but keep in mind it might not be the most stable option.

Ugh, been there done that. EDD's system is a nightmare. Have you tried using the "Forgot Password" option on their website? Sometimes it lets you reset without all the info.

I had the same issue last month. Here's what worked for me: 1. Gather all your info: SSN, DOB, old email addresses 2. Call early in the morning, like right when they open 3. Be super clear about needing a password reset 4. If the first agent can't help, politely ask to speak to a supervisor 5. Write down any reference numbers they give you Good luck! The system is a mess, but keep trying.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: check your spam folder for any old EDD emails. You might find your last payment date there.

•I'd also suggest having your browser history on hand if you've ever accessed the EDD site from there; sometimes it can jog your memory.

Claimyr sounds like a really useful tool for those experiencing extreme difficulty in reaching EDD representatives. However, it's essential to consider both the benefits and downsides of such services. On the plus side, it helps you bypass long waiting times and directly connects you to a live agent, which can be a game-changer for those who need urgent help. On the downside, the $20 fee might not be affordable for everyone, especially those already facing financial challenges. Additionally, while Claimyr is reportedly effective, individuals should always verify the legitimacy of such services and ensure they're not exposing sensitive information. It's also worth exploring other free alternatives, such as reaching out to local legislative offices or using social media platforms like Twitter to get a response from EDD. Balancing cost against time savings and potential frustration can help you decide if Claimyr or similar services are worth it for your particular situation.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the URL: https://claimyr.com

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

•Keep in mind that while it might be worth the cost for some, it might not be feasible for everyone. Always weigh the pros and cons based on your situation.

This might sound crazy, but have you tried faxing them? I know it's 2023, but sometimes old school methods work with these dinosaur systems.

Have you checked if there's a way to retrieve your last payment date through your bank's online portal? Some banks keep detailed transaction histories.

Dylan Fisher
•Yes! Some banks let you download or search for statements for several years back.

Update: I tried calling again this morning and struck out. The agent said they couldn't verify my identity without the last payment date. Back to square one. 😫
