EDD account locked out - password reset not working for family leave claim. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble accessing my EDD account for family leave. I forgot my password and tried to reset it, but when I clicked the link in the email they sent, it just told me to call a number. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips on how to get this sorted out without spending hours on hold?

I found a way to solve EDD account password reset issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPNYKswXTgU

Ugh, classic EDD. Their online system is such a mess. I had the same issue last year and ended up having to call. It took forever to get through, but they were able to reset it for me over the phone. Good luck!

•Same here! It's like they make it difficult on purpose 🙄 took me 3 days of calling to finally get through

•3 days? You got lucky. I spent a week trying to reach someone. EDD needs to get their act together fr

•A week?! Oh man, I hope it doesn't take that long for me. This is stressful enough as it is.

I found a way to get someone on the phone without the endless hold times. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of frustration. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•I get the skepticism, but it's legit. Used it twice now. Way better than wasting a whole day on hold.

Have you tried using a different browser or clearing your cache? Sometimes that can help with weird login issues.

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You'll have a much better chance of getting through quickly. Also, try calling from a different phone number if possible - sometimes they limit calls from the same number.

•This! I always call at 8:01 AM and usually get through within 15-20 minutes.

I feel your pain, OP. The EDD system is a nightmare. Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They sometimes have direct lines to EDD and can help push things through faster.

•I hadn't thought of that! Do you know how I'd find my assembly member's contact info?

•Sure thing! Just go to findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov and enter your address. It'll give you all your reps' info. Good luck!

Okay, let me break this down for you. I've been through this rodeo before, and here's what you need to do: 1. First, try the password reset one more time. Sometimes it's just a glitch. 2. If that fails, you're gonna have to call. Use the main EDD number: 1-800-300-5616. 3. Best times to call are Tuesday-Thursday, either right when they open at 8am or around 1pm. 4. Have all your info ready: SSN, claim number, etc. 5. Be patient and polite with the rep - they deal with frustrated people all day. 6. If you can't get through, try that assembly member trick someone mentioned. 7. As a last resort, you might want to try that paid service someone mentioned. I haven't used it, but if you're desperate... Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through eventually. Good luck!

anyone else think its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to access our own accounts? the government needs to get with the times and upgrade their systems fr

Hey OP, just wondering - did you try accessing the site on mobile? Sometimes the desktop version acts up but the mobile site works fine. Worth a shot before you spend hours on the phone!
