EDD UI Online login broken - password reset links don't work
I've been trying to access my EDD account for the past 3 days and keep hitting a brick wall. Every time I try to log in, it says my password is incorrect (even though I KNOW I'm using the right one). When I click on 'Forgot Password' and follow the steps, I get an email with a reset link, but when I click it, I get an error message saying the link is invalid or expired! Then it tells me to call some 800 number for assistance. Has anyone else had this problem? Is calling really the only solution at this point? I'm getting worried because I need to certify by Sunday, and I can't get into my account!

SAME EXACT THING happened to me last month!! So frustrating. The reset link kept giving me an error page saying it was 'expired' even though I clicked it within 5 minutes of receiving it. I tried on different browsers, cleared cache, even used my roommates laptop. NOTHING WORKED. The system is so broken!!!

•Did you end up having to call? I'm worried I'll be on hold all day and still not get through to anyone.

This is actually a pretty common UI Online issue. Before you call, try these troubleshooting steps that worked for me: 1. Make sure you're using a computer, not your phone (mobile can cause weird issues) 2. Try a different browser (Chrome works best with EDD's system) 3. Clear your browser cookies and cache completely 4. Wait 24 hours before requesting another password reset (the system has a cooldown) 5. When you get the reset email, copy/paste the link instead of clicking it If none of that works, then unfortunately yes, you'll need to call. The technical support line (not the regular EDD line) sometimes has shorter wait times: 1-855-327-7057.

•Thanks for the detailed steps! I just tried all of them (switched to Chrome, cleared everything, copy/pasted the link) and still getting the same error. I guess I'll have to call tomorrow morning. Ugh, wish me luck.

i had this issue 2 weeks ago and wasted 3 days trying to fix it myself. kept getting those stupid expired link messages even tho i was clicking right away. tech support line just kept disconnecting me because of "high call volume" 🙄

•The EDD phone system is SUCH a joke! I swear they designed it to be as frustrating as possible.

I went through this exact nightmare scenario last month. After trying for days to reset my password with no luck, I discovered a service called Claimyr that helped me get through to an EDD rep quickly. They basically hold your place in the EDD phone queue and call you when they've got an agent on the line. Saved me from the constant busy signals and disconnects. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km The rep I finally spoke with explained that sometimes accounts get security-locked after multiple login attempts, and only phone support can unlock them. They fixed my account in about 5 minutes once I actually got through to someone.

•Thank you for this tip! I'll check out that service if I can't get through tomorrow. Did they ask you security questions to verify your identity when you finally reached someone?

This is a widespread EDD issue right now. Their authentication system implemented an update that's causing login problems for many claimants. I work with unemployment cases, and we've been seeing a spike in these exact complaints over the last two weeks. Some technical background: EDD's UI Online system uses a separate identity verification layer that sometimes gets out of sync with the main system, especially after maintenance periods. When this happens, password resets fail because the two systems aren't properly communicating. Unfortunately, calling is indeed the only solution when you hit this particular error. Specifically ask the representative to: 1. Check if your account has a security lock flag 2. Verify your identity in the ID.me system is properly linked 3. Reset your credentials on both the front and back-end systems Make sure to call early in the morning (right when they open) for the shortest wait times.

•Wow, thanks for this detailed explanation! I didn't realize there were two separate systems that could get out of sync. I'll definitely ask about both the security lock and the ID.me connection when I call tomorrow morning.

Has anyone tried the "Contact EDD" form in the website instead of calling? I'm wondering if that would work for this kind of problem?

•The Contact EDD form won't help with account access issues, unfortunately. Those inquiries are routed to claims specialists, not technical support. Phone support is the only department authorized to make account-level security changes.

My husband's account did the same thing, i ended up having to do certification by phone using telecert that week while we waited to get the login fixed. At least that way he didn't miss his certification period! The number should be on your paperwork or the EDD website. Not ideal but a temporary workaround if your certification is due before you can get the login fixed.

•Thank you! I didn't even think about using telecert. I'll definitely do that if I can't get this resolved by Sunday. At least then I won't miss my certification deadline.

Update: I finally got through to EDD this morning after trying the Claimyr service I mentioned. The rep confirmed there was indeed a security lock on my account that could only be removed by phone. She fixed it in minutes once I verified my identity. I just successfully logged in! I recommend calling the technical support line at 1-855-327-7057 as early as possible when they open at 8am.

•Thanks for the update! I'm planning to call right at 8am tomorrow. Fingers crossed they can fix mine as quickly as they did yours.

I've been dealing with this exact same issue for the past week! The password reset links keep failing with that "invalid or expired" error message, even when I click them immediately. What's really frustrating is that I can see in my email that I'm getting multiple reset requests, but none of the links work. I tried all the troubleshooting steps mentioned here (different browsers, clearing cache, copying/pasting links) but nothing helps. It's like the EDD system is just completely broken right now. I'm going to try calling that technical support line first thing Monday morning. This is so stressful when you need to certify and can't even access your account!

•I'm dealing with the exact same thing right now! It's so reassuring to know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. Based on what everyone has shared here, it sounds like calling is really the only solution. I'm going to try the technical support line at 1-855-327-7057 first thing in the morning too. At least if we both call early, maybe we'll have better luck getting through. Good luck with your call on Monday!

I'm experiencing this exact same problem right now! It's been 4 days and I can't get into my account no matter what I try. The password reset emails come through, but every single link gives me that "invalid or expired" error message. I've tried everything - different browsers, clearing cache, waiting 24 hours between attempts, copying/pasting instead of clicking - nothing works! Reading through all these comments, it's clear this is a widespread system issue with EDD's authentication. I'm going to call that technical support number (1-855-327-7057) first thing tomorrow morning and ask them to check for a security lock on my account like @Jamal Wilson suggested. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - at least I know I'm not going crazy and this really is a system problem!

•I'm in the exact same boat! Been locked out for 5 days now and getting nowhere with the password resets. It's honestly a relief to see so many people with this same issue - I was starting to think I was doing something wrong. I'm definitely going to try calling that technical support line tomorrow morning too. Hopefully they can sort this out quickly like they did for @Andre Dupont. This whole system is such a mess, but at least we have a game plan now. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I'm going through this exact same nightmare right now! Started yesterday when I tried to log in and it kept saying my password was wrong. I've requested probably 6 password reset emails at this point, and every single link gives me that "invalid or expired" error - some of them I clicked within 30 seconds of receiving the email! It's definitely not a user error at this point. Reading all these comments makes me feel better knowing it's a widespread system issue and not just me. I'm going to try calling that technical support line (1-855-327-7057) tomorrow morning right when they open at 8am. Hopefully they can remove whatever security lock is causing this. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and solutions - this thread has been more helpful than anything on the actual EDD website!
