EDD UI Online account locked - need urgent password reset help today
I'm in a total panic right now because I need to certify by midnight and I can't get into my UI Online account. It keeps saying my password is incorrect even though I KNOW I'm typing it right. I've tried the 'Forgot Password' link about 5 times but I never get the reset email. Is there any way to talk to an actual human at EDD today (Sunday) to reset my account? I can't afford to miss this certification and lose my benefits this week. Has anyone successfully reached someone on a weekend for account issues?

•Are you serious??? What am I supposed to do then? Just lose a week of benefits because their system doesn't work???

Don't panic! Even if you can't certify today, you can still certify tomorrow without losing benefits. EDD gives you a 14-day window to certify for any benefit period. The midnight "deadline" is just when the system first allows you to certify for the week, not the final cutoff. For the password reset issue - check your spam/junk folders for the reset email. Also, try using a different browser or clearing your cache. Sometimes UI Online gets stuck in weird loops with the password reset function.

•Thank you so much! I didn't know about the 14-day window. That takes some pressure off. I've checked spam folders already and tried both Chrome and Edge with no luck. I'll try clearing my cache next.

I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM last month!!! Turns out my account was LOCKED because I tried too many password attempts. The stupid system never TELLS you it's locked vs wrong password - it just says "incorrect credentials" for BOTH situations. So frustrating! Unfortunately you DO need to talk to someone to unlock it if that's what happened.

•Oh no, that's probably what happened to me too! How did you eventually get it fixed?

I spent TWO DAYS trying to call that stupid 833 number and could never get through - always the "we're experiencing high call volume" message. I was about to lose my mind when another reddit user told me about Claimyr. It's this service that basically calls EDD for you and then connects you when they get through. I was skeptical but desperate so I tried it. Got connected to an agent in about 40 minutes who unlocked my account right away. They have a demo video at https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km if you want to see how it works. Their website is claimyr.com

The password reset email can sometimes take up to 2 hours to arrive, especially on weekends when their systems are under higher load from everyone certifying. If you still need assistance on Monday, call the technical support line at 1-833-978-2511 as soon as they open at 8am. Choose the options for account access issues rather than claim questions, as you'll typically get through faster. Also, for future reference, I recommend setting up alternate contact methods in your UI Online profile settings once you regain access. You can add a phone number for text verification which is much more reliable than email resets.

•Thanks for the detailed advice. I didn't realize the reset emails could be so delayed. I'll definitely set up the text verification option once I get back in!

Had this same issue in January. For me, the account was locked because my IP address changed (I was at my parents' house). EDD has really strict security that sometimes flags normal activity as suspicious. One thing nobody's mentioned - have you tried using the automated phone system to certify instead? You can call 1-866-333-4606 and certify by phone while you're working on fixing the online access. That way you don't have to worry about the timing.

•I completely forgot about the phone certification option! That's a great backup plan if I can't get the online access fixed quickly. Thanks!

•Please don't create multiple UI Online accounts - this will actually create more problems and could potentially flag your claim for fraud review. Each claimant should only have one account linked to their SSN. The proper solution is to get the existing account unlocked or password reset.

UPDATE: I ended up using that Claimyr service that someone mentioned above and it actually worked! Got connected to an EDD tech support person in about 30 minutes. Turns out my account WAS locked because of too many incorrect password attempts. They unlocked it, helped me set a new password, and I was able to certify right away. Also took the advice about setting up text verification so this doesn't happen again. Thanks everyone for your help!

•Awesome! Glad it worked out for you too. The exact same thing happened to me - seems like EDD should really make it clearer when accounts are locked vs wrong password!
