EDD account locked - can't access Family Paid Leave application. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having a major issue with my EDD account. It's locked and I can't access it to complete my Family Paid Leave application. I even went to the local office and filled out some forms, but nothing's changed. I spoke to two reps there and they weren't much help. Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice on how to get this sorted out?

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there before. Have you tried calling the EDD directly? Sometimes you can get lucky and reach someone who can actually help.

•Yeah, I've been trying to call but it's impossible to get through. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•I was skeptical too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration.

•20 bucks tho? 🤔 Seems steep for something that should be free

•I get it, but tbh it was worth every penny for me. Time is money, ya know?

Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblymember or state senator? They often have staff dedicated to helping constituents with EDD issues. It's worth a shot!

Oof, locked accounts are the worst. Here's what worked for me: 1. Email SDI@edd.ca.gov with your full name, last 4 of SSN, and a brief explanation of the issue. 2. In the subject line, put "URGENT - Account Locked" 3. Follow up with a phone call to the SDI office (not regular EDD) at 1-800-480-3287 4. If all else fails, file a complaint with the EDD here: https://edd.ca.gov/about_edd/filing_a_complaint.htm Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system that was locking accounts randomly. Keep pestering them and eventually you'll get through to someone who knows what's up. Hang in there!

have u tried turning it off and on again? 😂 jk jk... but seriously, sometimes clearing your browser cache and cookies can help with weird website issues. might be worth a shot?

This is why we need a complete overhaul of the unemployment system. It's not just you, OP. Thousands of people are struggling with these issues every day. We need to put pressure on our representatives to fix this broken system!
