EDD account locked - Forgot password AND security question. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having a major issue with my EDD account. I forgot my password and can't reset it because I don't remember my security question answer. Every time I try to reset, it just keeps looping me back to the security question. I've tried calling EDD multiple times but can't get through. Anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to break this cycle and actually get my account reset?

Ugh, been there done that. The EDD system is such a nightmare sometimes. Have you tried going to an actual EDD office? I know it's a pain, but sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things done with these bureaucrats.

•I hadn't thought of that. Is it possible to just walk in, or do I need an appointment?

•Last time I went, it was walk-in. But that was pre-covid. Might wanna check their website or call ahead (if you can get through lol) to make sure. Good luck!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho

•How long did it take for them to actually get someone on the line?

•For me, it took about 2 hours. But I just went about my day and they called when an agent was on the line. Way better than being stuck on hold yourself.

Have you tried using a different browser or clearing your cache? Sometimes EDD's website acts up with certain browsers. Also, check if you have any browser extensions that might be interfering.

This is why I always write down my security questions and passwords in a notebook. Old school, but it works 🤷♂️

•Until someone finds your notebook lol. Ever heard of a password manager?

Here's what worked for me when I was in the same boat: 1. Try calling right when they open. I mean, set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. 2. If that doesn't work, email them through the contact form on the website. Be super detailed about your issue. 3. Reach out to your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. 4. As a last resort, check if there are any EDD workshops or events in your area. Sometimes they have staff there who can help with account issues. Hope this helps! Don't give up, it's frustrating but you'll get through eventually.

•Contacting your rep is lowkey genius. They helped me with my claim when I was ready to give up

•To be fair, they're dealing with millions of accounts and trying to prevent fraud. But yeah, it could definitely be more user-friendly.
