EDD UI Online password reset asking for last payment amount - stuck in endless calling loop
I'm completely frustrated trying to reset my UI Online password! The system is asking for the exact amount of my last payment, but I seriously can't remember what it was (it's been months). I've called EDD literally 8 times today, and each time I sit through that ridiculously long automated message only to be told "we're experiencing high call volume, try again later" at the end. I'm about to lose my mind! Has anyone else dealt with this password reset nightmare? Is there any other way to verify my identity without knowing that specific payment amount? I need to access my account ASAP to check on my new claim status.

I had the same problem last month. If you have direct deposit, check your bank statements for the exact amount - that's what they're looking for. If you had the Money Network card, you might be able to check through their app if you still have access. The system wants the EXACT amount with cents included, not rounded.

•Thanks for the tip about checking bank statements! Unfortunately I had the Money Network card and I can't access their system either because... I need the same login info 🤦♀️ It's like a catch-22.

•I tried a few amounts I thought it might be, but no luck. And nobody else would know that info. I'll check my emails though - didn't think of that!

If you visit an EDD office in person, they can verify your identity with other documentation and help you reset your password. Bring your ID, social security card, and any EDD paperwork you have. I'd also suggest looking through any paper mail you received from EDD as they sometimes send payment notifications. Alternatively, check if you saved any screenshots of your payment history on your phone or computer - a lot of people take screenshots of important info.

•Great idea about checking for screenshots - I actually found one! But the amount shown is from January, and I did receive a payment after that. The in-person option might be my only choice at this point.

Use Claimyr to get through to EDD on the phone! I was in the same boat last week after trying for days. Claimyr got me connected to a real person in less than 30 minutes who helped reset my password without needing the payment amount. Check out their demo video: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km and website claimyr.com - seriously saved me hours of frustration!

•I've never heard of this service before, but at this point I'm willing to try anything! Just watched the video. Thanks for the recommendation - will give it a shot tomorrow if checking my emails doesn't work.

THE EDD SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO KEEP YOU OUT!! They make it IMPOSSIBLE to talk to a real person and then add these ridiculous verification questions that nobody remembers! I had to drive 47 miles to an office and wait 3 HOURS just to reset my password last year. This is how they discourage people from claiming benefits they DESERVE!!! The whole system needs to be completely rebuilt from scratch!

•While it's definitely frustrating, I don't think it's intentionally designed to keep people out. The security measures are there to prevent fraud, which has been a huge problem since 2020. But I agree they should offer more verification options.

Hi there, I work as an unemployment consultant and deal with this issue frequently. Another option is to check if you have your Form 1099-G from your tax filing, which would show the total benefits received. You could also try the automated phone system at 1-866-333-4606, which sometimes has different security questions than the online system. If all else fails, mail in a password reset request form (DE 8619) with a copy of your ID to the address on the form. It takes 7-10 days but is guaranteed to work.

•Thank you for these detailed options! I don't have my 1099-G handy but I'll definitely try that automated phone number tonight. If that doesn't work, I'll look for the DE 8619 form. Really appreciate the expert advice!

•Please don't encourage random guessing. After too many incorrect attempts, the system will lock the account completely, requiring an even more complex reset process. It's better to use one of the official channels I mentioned above.

UPDATE: I tried the automated phone number that @unemploymentpro suggested, and was able to verify with my SSN and California ID number instead! Then I requested a temporary password be sent to my email. Successfully logged in now. Thanks everyone for your help!

•Great to hear! Make sure to write down your new password somewhere secure so you don't have to go through this again. And consider setting up a password manager for the future.
