PFL application stuck in EDD limbo for 2 weeks, rent due - need urgent help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I submitted my PFL application two weeks ago and haven't heard anything back from EDD. My rent is due this weekend and I really need this application processed ASAP. Has anyone else experienced delays like this? Any advice on how to speed things up?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last month. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but it's the only way I got any answers.

I've been trying to call all week, but no luck. It's so frustrating! 😤 How long did it take you to finally get through?

It took me like 3 days of non-stop calling. I literally had to put my life on hold (pun intended lol). But once I got through, they were able to push my application through pretty quickly.

3 days?! That's insane. The system is so broken, it's not even funny anymore. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I'm skeptical. How do we know this isn't just some scam?

I get the skepticism, but I promise it's legit. I was desperate and took a chance. It saved me days of frustration. Just sharing what worked for me! šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending any notifications.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling right when they open or just before they close. Sometimes you can catch them with shorter wait times.

This! šŸ‘† I always call at 7:59 AM and usually get through within 30 minutes.

Listen up, because I've been through this rodeo before and I've got some tips that might help: • First, don't panic. I know it's tough with rent due, but EDD is notoriously slow. • Double-check your online account. Sometimes they update there first. • If you haven't already, send a follow-up through your online account. Be polite but firm. • Call early in the morning, like right when they open. Be prepared to redial... a lot. • If you can't get through, try reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They often have contacts at EDD and can help push things along. • Document everything. Every call, every attempt, every communication. • If you're really in a bind, look into emergency rent assistance programs in your area. • Lastly, breathe. This process sucks, but you'll get through it. Hang in there, OP. We're all rooting for you! šŸ’Ŗ

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll definitely try reaching out to my assembly member. Didn't even know that was an option!

This is why I'm scared to apply for PFL. The whole system seems like a mess. Good luck, OP!

Anyone else think its crazy that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get what we're entitled to? The system is rigged against us, I swear.
