PFL application submitted in January, no updates or payments yet. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I submitted my PFL application back in January and it's been radio silence ever since. No updates, no payments, nada. It's been months now and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? Any advice on how to get an update or speed things up? I'm really counting on these benefits and the wait is killing me.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•I've tried calling but keep getting stuck in this endless phone tree. It's so frustrating! 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have better luck getting through to a human.

•Calling is useless, I spent 3 hours on hold last week and got disconnected 🤡

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

•Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration.

•20 bucks tho? That's kinda steep just to talk to someone...

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. I was going crazy trying to get through on my own.

Have you tried emailing them? Sometimes that can be more effective than calling. Here's a template you can use: Subject: Follow-Up on PFL Application Dear EDD Team, I'm writing to inquire about my Paid Family Leave application submitted on [DATE]. I haven't received any updates or payments yet. Could you please provide a status update? If you need any additional information from me, please let me know. Thank you for your assistance. Best regards, [YOUR NAME]

The whole system is broken af. I've been waiting on my benefits for 6 months now. It's ridiculous how they expect people to survive while they sit on our applications. 🤬

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there without sending a notification.

•Yeah, I've been checking it obsessively. Still says 'pending' 😩

Idk if this helps, but I heard they're super backlogged rn because of some new system update. Might explain the delay. Hang in there!

This might sound crazy, but have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? I was stuck in EDD limbo for months, and their office actually helped me get it sorted out. Worth a shot!

•I second this! My cousin did the same thing and it worked. Politicians love to help with this kinda stuff, makes them look good 😂

Just a heads up, make sure all your docs are in order. They rejected my claim cuz I forgot to sign one stupid form. Double check everything!
